Mentors?

After 12 years being into this kink and being in the community for the last 5, a friend recently told me I was like a mentor to them. Basically, a guide and teacher through this fetish, on the real and fantasy level. It just sparked some curiosity in me. Does anyone else really have mentor, or person that more or less granted them a great deal of experience throughout their time here or else where in this kink.

Also, what would it be like to have a group of mentors that act as guides for the new wave of inflators and inflatees? For writing, art, and RP? Make it like a friendly, optionally plutonic relationship between master and pupil kind of thing. I think that would be excellent, and would be up for being amongst the first. (unless this is already a thing and I'm blind)

hmm, thats a interesting idea. I've been into ths since i was a kid, tough i've only been active in it for the past...like 8 years i think? give or take. I never had a mentor though lol

I guess that could be helpful. When it comes to finding out what you like and don't like in this fetish, you really just need exposure to a lot of different things. A "tour guide" that knows the best examples of, for instance, male vs. female inflation, air vs. water vs. blueberry, belly vs. hourglass vs. spherical, etc. would be nice.

Wouldn't it?! A lot of newcomes are all about the "letspuffkbai". It has sorta grinded on me, so maybe helping out a person or persons would be a generous way to develop and tie the younger to the older community.

I like this idea. If this ever becomes a think, I'll definitely throw my hat into the ring as a mentor. I think it'd be a really fascinating experience to help fast-track someone's understanding of the community and the fetish. It'd kind of be like discovering it all over again.

I'd like to think I had a similar thing with certain people but not sure if I had a mentor really. I probably had one or more that helped shape me (rather round shape I might add) to be how I am over time. I think it's important to help out newer people get a bit aclimated.

I notice from your posts that you seem interested in starting up some sort of community thing. Communities don't lead, they follow. You sound pretty enthusiastic about your ideas. Would you be interested in taking the lead and doing most of the work to see them through?

It goes without saying that I am passionate about this fetish of mine. Years ago, when I was under 18 and very well informed of the consequences of joining sites like these, I had very few people to talk to about it. Even then, those people weren't a part of this kink, and being across the internet I felt they never really understood me. That said, since being 18 and joining various yahoo groups, and later this site, along with countless years RPing, I find myself utterly thankful that (most) people in this community are open minded and level headed. No one really outright said I was weird or judged me for my interests. Its things like that have kept me loyal to the kink, and though I have no real talent...I always wanted to bring about something, or bring things together, so as to provide something to the community. I can't draw, I rarely write, I know nothing of video or animation making. I'm just moral support for anyone wanting to go the distance, because I feel that's the best I can do.
