Looking for a dark blueberry series

I remember reading a series of stories a while back that focused on blueberry inflation. In the stories a mad man had developed some kind of drug that would fill women up with blueberry juice, and if too much juice was squeezed out of any one, they would fill with more juice than before, and even pop. The stories jumped back and forth to a number of characters around the city where the mad man was exposing women to the drug, but it primarily focused on two girls who shared an apartment, where one of the girls had been turned into a blueberry, and a police investigator who was trying to save a girl who had filled with juice in a night club. I don't remember the title or the author of the series. Would anyone happen to know of such stories?
