Oldest inflation picture?

Considering our community goes back quite a long way, what is the earliest inflation image to be recorded for this community by an artist?

It would be very interesting to know what image that is.

What do you mean by an artist? One doesn't have to be an artist to upload a inflation image.

I can recall back in 1994 on the inflate 123 web page the breast inflation of ally mcbeal was the first I saw.

Then after that was the Bliss of mrs. blossom breast inflation who also looked like suit inflation.

Ally McBeal did not exist in 1994.

Memory can be a slippery thing.

Inflate123's site didn't start up until 1996. The Ally McBeal episode where her breasts inflate first aired in 1997.

The oldest inflation art I have in my collection has timestamps from 1995, though suspect some are much older than that.

LOL, I don't draw.  There was a certain mysterious artist some of you may be familiar with who uploaded excellent drawings to the Amazon's Arena BBS back in the early 90's that I think pre-date pretty much everything else.  Also, there's a certain inflation story author lurking around here who was commissioning inflation art at comic conventions around that time as well.

I suppose that depends on what your criteria might be. If it's specifically erotic and for a particular audience the furthest back I can currently find is some work (1970's maybe) by Eric Stanton which involves hermaphrodite women impregnating men to very large sizes. I have however seen vintage German and Japanese art which would doubtlessly be older featuring enemas. Though I can't recall any noticable distention I'm sure there would be an example or two amongst them.

"I am surprised to read 'German and Japanese' and 'enemas' in the same sentence," said no one ever.

It'd be 1992 for the first image I commissioned from a fetish artist. She thought it was hilarious and leapt at the idea when I ran it past her.

Ah, fond memories...

If we're talking pure pressurization and/or clothing inflation, some of the earliest artwork involved political satire cartoons in newspapers poking at the foibles of fashion back in the 1780's when the Montgolfier brothers brought the concept of the hot air balloon to the public's notice. Interestingly enough, there were a few outfits that apparently approximated the voluminous look of the brother's designs. When you consider that quite a few balloons were made out of the fabric most often used in women's dresses, it was almost inevitable.

Needless to say, the media ran with the idea, if only to soundly decry the terrible taste of "kids these days." Unfortunately I have never been able to track down anything other than text references to these political cartoons, so I have no idea if they ventured into our realm of oversize.

Oop, forgot to add that I think the earliest artwork directly for the community probably showed up on the BalloonBuddies mailing list, but it's a bit difficult to determine when some of that was created. I'd already purchased a fair amount of artwork and had tackled several stories by the time I ran into Inflate123 and the mailing list, so who knows how many others were doing the same solo thing years beforehand.
