Well you can send a message along with the add on Yahoo, something like 'hi there I saw you on BI.org'
Is it OK to add strangers on yahoo without private messaging first?

Yeah you certainly should say in your first message who you are, that you're a fellow Body Inflation.org member and what sorts of inflation sorts of interests you hope the other person shares.

Agreed. If they've made their Yahoo public and requested RP then it's fine to add them so long as you send a suitable introductory message.

I would say yes, provided that (as others have already mentioned) you let them know who you are/where you got their YIM when you add them.

I would have to say no, unless you send a message with your add so you don't show up out of the blue. Pretty much what everyone else is saying, but hey, it works.
I would personally say no to this as a typical answer. The only time I would see that as the option is if there was no other way you could message them when they found your yahoo publically shown. A simple form of courtesy as I see it.
