What's next for the Inf-Com(inflation community)?

I know we recently had our day of Inflation, but I'm curious what will come forth next. I feel as a community we are rather tame, and can be really awesome people(until our horribly perverted minds show up), yet I get the sense that there hasn't been that BIG thing that we could all pitch in on and say "Hey, that thing, we all did that. It wasn't just the artists, the animators, or the writers...we all made that a thing." Now, I'm not saying we search amongst our ranks for the best of the best of the best(sir!) of film makers, and make something gigantic out of that, but I'm just sparking the thought.

Honestly, I'd be willing to put money toward something that we can all our own. Plenty of other fetishes have a "claim to fame" of sorts, and as far as I can tell, ours is Violet. Though I think its time for an update. Maybe some super art collab, showing the history of inflation, the pioneering sites where we all started, the development of our kink throughout media, etc. Maybe a short community film, a "videograhphy" of sorts. I mean, by this point I'm more looking toward something that could serve as a monument to how far we've come(and how big we've gotten) since things started out. Sure, whatever it is may be sexual or arousing, but so long as it shows who we are, and what we do, I'd be happy with that.

I'm getting a bit wordy, so I best finish up. I just want something for all of us, and I'm pretty sure plenty of veterans around here would appreciate it, especially when you consider that some of the veterans are individuals who have made this fetish the thing it is today. So how about it? Any ideas?

P.S.: Totally coining Inf-Com if it isn't already coined ^_^

I think that's a really neat idea. We should do something like that(i dont consider myselt a vet, but just tossing in my two-cents)

I think it's been mooted... The problem, though with these kinds of project is they start off with crowd funding, then everyone gets all demanding of the film-maker, ranting on inflate-chan that they've run off with the money because it's been over a week since the last update, and it ends with people shouting at each other and nothing to show for it. Sadly I don't think we're cohesive enough, too different in our specific preferences (for example, I couldn't care less for Violet and blueberry, does nothing for me) and too few of us are willing to actually contribute anything, for a grand scale project to be likely.

I just realised what you are talking about.

There's indeed a fair share of mobility in the project I started on May 12th. This August lead artist left after producing one sketch in 4 months, that's a major effect on the schedule - I'm going for painting classes starting in Winter. This September a very nice writer also left, which is a pity, but not a big deal. Not to mention several people who agreed to help but never did anything at all. So what you say is true (except shouting on each other or being impolite, sarcastic etc. - never happened so far).

But then again, new people are also joining, and every single one had a valuable contribution so in the end I'm grateful to all of them.

Besides, all freeware projects are like that - people come and go, each one brings some bit to the project, and releasing team is totally different people from those who started. And 80%-90% are not doing anything. That's normal for freeware.

What Carnatic said.

Look at the past community projects, be it film, voice, or game development.  As a communal effort we've netted exactly bupkis.

Its not a matter of being "tame" (although I am and I'm happy with it :) ), its that we're only a community in the loosest internet terms.  No internet no community.  We don't have a lot invested in each other.  Most of us have never and will never meet face to face with another person in this community (Ok, yes I have, but I said "most" ). There's no orginisation, and there's Carnatic being all observant and stuff:  We aren't cohesive enough.  I couldn't care less about blueberry pedophilia.

It's less a matter of "what's next?" as we've never actually accomplished anything, and more of a "what's first?"

I'd even go as far as to say Community isn't the right word. Collective seems far more appropriate, with a whole mess of folks loosely huddled under the vague umbrella of inflation.

If anything, given the nature of the internet and technology I'd say the next big thing is the continued rise of lots of little things. Everyone has their own personal take on the fetish and, with a little bit of searching, you can find someone else willing to share in that idea (even if only for cold hard currency.)

I've sent you a message about little something.

Surprised nobody still mentioned one thing we all can.

Nice lady here asks about something big. Something impossible not to hear. Visual and noisy. So that everyone around has a little piece afterwards. Do I get it right?

Haha, you've came to the right place - look!

I don't have a problem calling it a community. I have made lifelong friendships through the community. But the private, explicit, sexual and unusual nature of the interest that binds us together makes it difficult, at best, to have the same transparency as other communities. I've met a few people face to face but I don't think you need that to have a bond stronger than a "collective."

Likewise, I have been in other communities where we did have in-person relationships and still couldn't get large projects off the ground. It's just tougher than it looks to do something Large And Of Great Importance.

The one thing we can all do together, we're doing. Conversations.

Personally, my next thing will be to never use the phrase "Inf-com." Sorry. :)

Fair enough @_@ To be honest, it sounded good when I posted initially.

Next day though it didn't quite roll off the tongue as well as it did. Oh well. :P

I dont think we have ever done that to begin with...apart from keeping this site alive. The thing is that this will be alive as long as we keep writing stories, making contributions and small projects (usually between a few people), and that kind of stuff. When things get slow theres always the worry that we may have become stagnant, but thats just life.

Honestly, I'm not too excited about the idea of a historical piece.  It would make an interesting wiki, but as a fetish creation such things tend to be a little heavy-handed and corny.  Too many cameos, name-dropping and shoutouts can ruin an otherwise good creative work.

That said, it sounds to me like what you're looking for is an inflation fetish short film project, sort of like what Mood Boobs was to B.E. fetish.  Now, even though Mood Boobs was under 20 minutes, it wasn't like the clip-store B.E. videos you see nowadays.  The guy behind that project got a basic B.E. story written first, then spent a lot of money hiring a real indie screenwriter/director who in turn brought in indie scream-queen actresses and a professional film editor.  It was a very well done successful project and every DVD that was printed got sold, and as far as I know it made back all the money that was spent on it.

Back then, crowd-sourcing websites did not exist.  I think the resources available nowadays could theoretically raise the bar on what one could do with a fetish film project.  Considering that a lot of clip-store "clips" are up to 25 minutes long, a full hour or 90 minute feature might be doable with a good script and two or three actors/actresses.
