Well, I don't really have a definition of popping nor do I really fantasize about inflation. In this scenario, and if I could, I would probably inflate until near bursting point, perhaps even bursting a few times, assuming that bursting would just detach my body a bit then it'd rejoin after a few minutes/hours good as new.
Fantasy inflation: If you could inflate as in a fantasy - would you?
I'd inflate right away, no second thought, and I'll surely pop myself asap if I could, even if that would kill me.

I'd inflate gladly with serious precautions - I'd make sure that I won't pop even if things go wrong (e.g., fitting a blowoff)

I certainly don't like lethal popping, as many are aware, nor am I big on the less realisitc kinds of inflation. However, if the rules of physics were adjusted to fantasy levels, I'd be happy to give just about any form of inflation a try. If I'm to be popped, I'd only do it if the respawn thing was in effect.

I'd be all for it, with suitable safety precautions. While an over-inflated clown bursting may be hilarious for the audience, I would imagine that it is no joke for the performer even if not permanent or lethal. I would imagine that it would be incredibly painful. Likewise, if inflated with a lighter than air gas until buoyant, I'd want to be sure I could be tracked by GPS should it be done in the open air, or have a handler immediately on hand to make sure I'm safely tethered. ELaborate showmanship is all very well, but if your performer dies you don't have a business.
Personally, I think most of us would keep doing what we are doing now even if we would live in a fantasy land where we could actually inflate to gross sizes and even pop. Just because what we do now doesn't involve harming ourselves or others, we merely enjoy the fruits of our imagination, with no consequences - and nothing more. And we don't want fantasy inflation to be real, ever. Or do we? ^_^
It's like in driving - one wrong move and we're seriously injured or even dead. But it doesn't stop us from driving. How risky is our community? What are we ready to put at stake to live our fantasy?
Call me a coward, but as for myself I'd take every precaution possible when inflating in a fantasy land, same as in sports or when driving. And if there's even a slight chance of permanent popping - I'd rather just keep imagining things, and not actually inflate, even if I could.
