I've been wanting to get a new camera for quite some time now, so that the videos I produce for my YouTube channel can have better audio and video quality. However since I'd be looking to spend rougly $600-650 on something decent, I figured it might be worth trying a couple of different routes to fund the new hardware.
First, I'm looking to start taking video and photo commissions again. While I don't have a price set on either of these, the cost would need to cover any clothing requested for use in the commissions if it's something that's rather expensive, or that I can't find used (as the clothing I use is always from second-hand sources).
I'm open to suggestions on prices. Take a look at my DeviantArt and YouTube pages to get an idea on what sort of work I do. I won't be able to show my face in either scenario, but I might be able to get away with speaking roles for video (if it's a live stream).
The other option I am looking at (which has already been set up) is taking donations through Patreon. It's a crowdfunding site that works similar to websites like Kickstarter, however donors (or Patreons) donate on a per-project (or per-video in my case) basis. Patreons are given benefits depending on how much they're willing to donate, and they can set up a monthly limit on how much they're willing to give.
Anyways, I'd love to hear some feedback on this, as I havent heard anything of the sort on both my dA and YouTube accounts.
I'm not one of the consumers I'm afraid, but I recognize it's high quality and very much adore the bravery and wit required from you. All the luck to the endeavour, and on the new ground as well!
You might want to look at prices of other people on Patreon, non-fetish ordinary artists and videographers could be a good hint.
