Why am I in to body inflation?

This always confused me. I mean, I don't care that I'm into body inflation, I'm just confused why.

When I was 10, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) came out. I always loved the blueberry scene more than any other scene. There's something about seeing a girl turn into a spherical, 10 foot tall, 1 ton blueberry without her knowing it would happen and being rolled around by workers against her will was so damn cool in my mind. Then, a few years later, I looked at it a little differently, seeing inflation art on the internet. I thought it was...

sexy.

I was like, "Why the hell do I have a boner watching something that was originally supposed to be innocent but turned out to be incredibly sexy?!" I said that internally of course, or otherwise I'd have to explain what I was saying to my parents, which would have resulted in something awful.

Is there any explanation for this? I really don't know why I find inflation art so damn appealing. I'm not angry at myself, I'm just confused.

While I can't give a defenite answer, I can give a couple of suggestions:

  1. Growth (as a survival mechanism): Many animals will try to make themselves look bigger to other predators to try and scare them off or to look more powerful and larger than them. It could be that people with this fetish have that primal adaptation, or wish they did, and seeing inflation and the subsequent growth could be a trigger for that.
  2. Pregnancy: Pregnancy is crucial to survival, and while I don't have a pregnancy fetish, I think a part of me wanting to be able to experience that myself, but never being able to as I am a male. I actually do practice inflation on my body (yes, it's completely safe if you do it right), and perhaps it's a subconscious thing being able to see myself inflate and grow a distended belly. I of course know that it isn't pregnancy in the slightest, but perhaps the primal part of my brain doesn't know that (like how you know that porn on a screen is just on a screen, but the primal part thinks your seeing it happening right in front of you and it's completely real). Either way, I get comfort and a reaction to it.

It does vary from person to person, and there isn't always a clear answer, even an answer at all than your brain just hardwiring that, but I can say that you are not alone, and there are literally thousands, if not hundreds of thousands that share your similar fetish. Mine is more specific towards belly inflation/distention myself, but that's just part of my kinks, and like all of us here, inflation is just appealing to us.

Also, I had a somewhat similar reaction as well. You might not know this, but one of the members on this site runs an inflatable latex garnment site, and one of the articles he sells is in fact a latex blueberry suit that you can purchase. (Link: http://squeaklatex.com/ballberry.php)

One more thing, don't feel like it's odd. Fetishes generally aren't chosen; they're a sexual adaptation hardwired by the brain for survival.

Thanks man! I've actually heard of Squeak Latex before. I would get one, but I don't find it absolutely necessary. Also, I'm not willing to spend a lot of money at the moment, after moving into a new apartment and finishing up a PC build. But thanks for the info! :D

No problem, and glad I could help. Hope the move and PC building is going well.

We all ask ourselves that same question everyday, there really is no known scientific explanation of body inflation and why we're so attracted to it while others would turn their nose up in disgust. I'm an inflatee and I want to blow up like a balloon, I crave that experience everyday but I'm unable to tell you why because I just don't know why. Like you, we're not angry at ourselves for having this strange sexual fetish but we are curious and even confused. Don't feel isolated, together the inflation community is one BIG (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) family and feel less insecure about our fetish as all inflationists on this site, and others, find themselves in the exact same position. Trust me, you'll feel less and less confused as you establish this site as a sort of second home and communicate with others. Most people on here find it easier to trade stories, as you've done with the story of the origins of your fetish. I think it's just something we have to accept about ourselves rather than look for answers, embrace it rather than try to suppress your feelings for a big tight expanding belly.

I agree with all of you in saying that it is confusing why we like body inflation. For me, I guess the reason why I like it is because I was so fascinated and always wonder if people could actually do that in real life at a younger age. I was fascinated by the effects and thought that it was intriguing to the eye. I always wanted to know how they managed to do it, until I read about the process later on in my life. Then, I started seeing it in cartoons and other movies that dealt with other parts of the body including the belly and the hourglass look, and then I became obsessed to know why and how this happens in real life. Then, I stopped my obsession by drawing and writing stories, so now I don't have weird dreams or nightmares that woke me up that deal with body inflation, I just embraced it and said I like ladies bodies inflated like balloons so what. Still I kept it secret and only told to a few people about it including my current girlfriend, who actually accepted me for having this weird fetish, and sometimes she wears a suit for me. But I do believe that it could possibly be a psychological trait or characteristic that certain people have, or it could be maybe we are creative people that we find it fascinating, creative, as well as sexually attractive. I am not angry nor sometimes pleased, but I just kind of accept it.
