(Situational means that you are usually for popping in general, but in a few cases your against it (like in written stories, not based around if it kills the person or not). Same goes for Vice Versa as well)

I've seen a few chats around here about popping, so I'd like to get a poll on it since it's quite active.

I don't really have a preference as I do not really fantasize about popping, but to choose one and start this off I'd say against popping, because to me the character usually ends up getting hurt or dies, and while I don't mind seeing them distressed being helplessly inflated, to rupture from it I do not enjoy at all.

Let's get voting people!

I've been into popping for as long as I know myself, been playing into popping as a child with other children before it even became anything sexual. Then been drawing popping in school when it was already a bit arousing - and thus something to be quiet about. A few classmates who occasionally saw my drawings laughed, while my closest friends shared the funny aspect of my fantasy and at times spotted ladies who could use some inflation before I did. Then, well, it became my fetish - until I found Maria.

When I got married, we role-played popping a few times - and it made me a strictly no-popping fan.

But it seems my attitudes are changing again - personally I blame the whole bunch of exceptionally bright explosive writers who flourished in the last year or two: LimitBurster, Pump1131, InflationFetishGuy - and the return of the grands like Carnatic back into writing. Or maybe it's because in the fantasy world I now imagine they simulate popping - experiencing the fun part while actually staying in one piece, alive and well. I'm not brave enough yet to rp with Maria her popping (alas, it's her fancy), but if things go where they go, I might like popping again some day.

More and mainly into popping. Fantasies about being inflated so tight (but, you know, not very big), I could just burst any moment arouses me alot. Tightness, roundness, sensation of immense pressure inside, creaking and squeaking of giving up skin and clothes... And final, orgasmic release. Not really desireable thais way, but ineviteble. Loud and a bit messy, since I not totally empty inside. Ahh. *cr-reak*

Not a fan of popping myself. I like the idea of being helpless, full and tight all over. Sexual orgasim is all the release i need. Popping is death to me.

Popping/Bursting is a capstone to many roleplays I have done in the past. As many have said through the years, it offers closure or at least some form of "wrapping up" for lengthy sessions. Even if the play didn't involve play, teasing or threatening with such lead to similar elation as far as I've experienced it. I could go on for hours about the merits, but I know not all are into it, so I'll refrain. Nevertheless, popping is an ace in my book.

Life is always a bit better once you pop a few buttons.

Chose Other, I'm pretty much neutral on popping nowadays. I'd prefer, realistically, not to pop since I'd obviously die but part of me would enjoy the sensation very much. I used to be strictly against and I have no idea what made me change my mind, but now I just don't care! If my inflator wants me to live and stay a big sphere, that's fine. If my inflator wants me to explode like an overinflated balloon, that's fine too. Afterall, I'm the inflatee, what sort of input could I offer to that beautiful person behind the pump... and hopefully also behind my billowing belly, slowly disappearing out of sight as I swell bigger and bigger. Will I pop or not? I think that's what makes it even more exciting!

So I'm pretty much ambivalent and, although I'd rather live the rest of my days as a big balloon person stuck inside someone's garage, I let my inflator decide my fate. I like to ask them before what their preference is but really I allow them to choose by giving them that flexibility. I am but a simple fortunate - or unfortunate - soul whose lips happen to be rapped around the nozzle of a high-powered air pump. I have no control over that! I might as well accept my fate then. As for artwork, I like both but I just love pics of people about to explode or stopping just before then. I'd quite fancy that in real life to be honest, to be inflated to my absolute maximum only to stop right before my impending boom. Exciting!

I like popping, but since I associate popping with finality, permanence, and destruction, not every story/scenario is suited for it.  There may be times when a character is best served being inflated forever, or somehow being able to deflate back to normal.  This has resulted in very few of my own stories featuring popping despite my fondness for it. Some characters are "designed" to pop, but most have no business doing so in the stories I prefer to tell.

In a way, popping kind of hinders the imagination.  By leaving a character inflated at the end of a story, that character's story continues even if it's never actually written.  In Sievert's "Balloon Tech", how long must Shawn wait in inflated solitude before someone finds her?  In Bob King's "The Cargo", what happens to Melissa and the other inflated women who are rescued (which is alluded to at the end of the story)?  In Sickstar's "Nasty Sting" stories, do any of the characters ever return to normal?  If they had popped, there's no more consideration given to them and their situation.

I won't open up the can of worms I did before, I promise. Anyway, I'm inclined to agree with doubleintegral and Bubblez101 on their views, for the most part. Fantasy wise, it doesn't really matter. It's a fantasy, you can pretty much do whatever you want. As long as the popping makes sense to the story line, it's fine by me. I personally do not enjoy the gorey, messy kind of descriptions, especially in an erotic setting. That kind of thing just pulls me right out of it. By the same token, the unrealistic, cartoonish kinds where the person explodes into little pieces of shredded rubber that flutter down to the ground like leaves are also not very arousing. But, both have their place in stories or roleplay that doesn't particulary focus on the erotic aspect.

I guess what I'm really trying to get to is that, when it comes to fantasy anyway, popping is acceptable to me as long as it makes sense to the situation. The cheerleader who inflates her rival and pops her because she was a bitch to her makes sense to me. The guy who pops himself or his girlfriend/wife because they want "the ultimate release" just doesn't feel right to me. Everything up to the popping--the senstation of stretching, the increasing pressure, begging not to explode--I actually do find arousing. But, the actual pop should only be reached if it makes sense to the story.

Just a little more. You can take it...I hope...

For me it's sort of situational. I've learned that floating away, can actually close up the story aswell. I do agree if there is popping, it has to be clean or balloon ish.

I don't like popping. Popping=death in my mind and there's nothing sexy about death haha.

Popping that isn't gory is fine with me. I prefer clean/cartoony popping to that. That aside, the medium used matters almost as much to me. I'd rather see a well-done story without popping that fatures gas/air, water or the like compared to cum or blueberry stuff.

As to why I like popping, the idea of a strong sexy woman holding my fate in her hands and then completely obliterating me (the POP) is something I find sexy to me. That's why I self-identify with the victims in ALL my stories.

rubbery shards, nothingness or ever a fireball (depending on the gas medium) are all what I call "clean."

Ah, it's all about popping for me! But then this interest of mine started when I was a very little girl, when I had a fear of balloons because I was always scared they'd go off bang unexpectedly..I wasn't into sudden loud noises. Plus I had a recurring nightmare of a scary man popping me with a pin. So I always had odd fantasies about my body being a balloon, and then women in general, and had fear/excitement about the idea of what it would be like to suddenly pop and be reduced in an instant to a burst balloon-skin. So it has always been very much about popping with me...popping like a balloon, into rubbery scraps (hence why I always draw "balloongirls"), or being blasted out of existence..messy popping with viscera flying everywhere does nothing for me.

Depends on the style of popping. I hate gory and permanent popping, as I consider it more gross and sad than anything. Cartoony inflation and popping, with the characters inflating to oversized degrees (Think Enigma20xx's works) before popping into rubbery scraps like balloons, then returning to normal afterwards, is one of my favorite inflation scenarios, because it's cute and funny. ^^ I'd especially like it if the girl in question (Yep, I'm into female inflation. ^^) rocketed away to the sky before popping, though I sadly haven't ever seen this particular scenario done before.

There is one called Gassed Up on this website that does have a "floating to sky and popping" scenario at the end, though it is one of those scenarios where the pop is in the distance and no details of the popping are revealed.
