Does anyone remember this game called "Air Escape"?

I can remember there used to be this silly little flash game called "Air Escape" that was hosted on some ancient Yahoo group way back in the early '00's. I don't remember who made it but the game was like a 2D platformer where you played as this girl who had to navigate her way around a bunch of scaffoldings and she could inflate her boobs and her butt to help her float and reach otherwise inaccessible places. She could even inflate herself into a spheric balloon in these strange air-tubes that would help you move objects that were you blocking your path.

My memory is very hazy since I haven't played this game in well over a decade but I'm pretty sure that it was originally hosted on some Yahoo group that I can't recall the name of, but I'm certain that that group has long since been shut down just like everything else was on Yahoo.

I'm just hopeful that someone here actually saved it and hosted it on a site for flash games, or this game may have been lost to the Internet's ether.

Sadly, I have only one of his creations - "Don't pop me"

Air Escape was SketchVG, actually, not CattyN. Just as well.

So does anyone still have his game saved anywhere?

Yep I remember this one. I wasn't able to get it to work after I upgraded to Windows XP way back in the day. But since I never throw anything away, I still have the file. If any of you have any luck running it, please let me know.

I still have the exe and I can't manage to run it on Win7. Tried compatiability mode and everything. It's a shame too, some of my earliest memories of getting that weird little feeling about inflation were when I'd have to inflate my character in certain old Genesis games. It was nice to have that feeling again in Air Escape.

Bump!

I downloaded the file but the exe was so old that Win10 just told me that it couldn't open it, which is a shame because I remember running the game perfectly fine in WinXP back in the day...

Oh well, I guess that's a lost treasure that we won't get to reopen :c

Have you looked into "VirtualBox"? It's a really neat peice of software and works wonders for some of my old games.

(Not on here too often, replies might be slow.)

You still have to have an old copy of Windows 98/2k/ME, but if you have one then yes, VirtualBox (or VMware) works very well.

I have a Windows 2000 license somewhere around here.  I'll give it a go whenever I have a chance.

I tried it out and I can attest that it works for a VM running Windows 2000 Professional. There shouldn't be any problems as long as you get the right product key.

As for the game itself, it was definitely a blast from the past. The gameplay was simple, though I had to read the help guide to get the exact controls. Even then, they seemed pretty wonky--How is it you're supposed to press Enter while running to inflate yourself and then stop before pressing it again? And I was expecting to use that same button to inflate spherically inside a vacuum chamber. Still, at least the inflation animation was decent.

Of course, looking back at this I now want to do an inflation platformer myself. Maybe a minor remake of the game, or otherwise something new with streamlined controls.

Dang, I really miss playing this game, but I don't have any old Windows OS licenses lying around...

Windows 10 won't allow it :(
