New female CG body inflation channel (for cool kids only)

Long story short I've been doing a lot of messing around with Blender recently, and I thought I'd start uploading my exploits with the software, most of which are gonna be inflation related. With this one I started with something simple: Lina from Dota 2 inflating.

Without selling myself too short, do keep in mind that most of the work put into this one was figuring out how to get it to animate in a way that didn't look like dogshit. I'll try and focus on cinematography and scenarios more in the future, as it's non-existent here. Also, I figured out how to properly import Valve-made masks and post-processing effects, so hopefully future character models will have better detail. Just thought I'd upload a small and crude taste of what's to come.

Thank you for your contribution! I'm certain you'll do well in the days and years to come. If anything, just don't get burnt out trying to provide content. Enjoy what you do and have fun, we'll enjoy it just as much, no matter what you make.

Life is always a bit better once you pop a few buttons.

Dang, this is some good stuff. Good job man!

can you teach me how to use blender? I have the program but I don't understand it.

I wish I could tell you myself, but there's a lot to it. It also sort of depends what you want to do with it. In my case, I was just messing around with the models from Dota 2, trying to make inflation animations out of them. That said, I can give you a couple pointers.

Use this, and use it well: https://www.blender.org/manual/

This does a damn fine job of explaining any part of Blender you're curious about, and a lot can be found from just experimentation. Chances are, if there's a feature you need, Blender can do it. Space bar is your friend, you can use it to search for a function you need. Don't feel the need to read that whole manual. Only part I'd say is mandatory is the interface, i.e. the first part. If you're still lost, Google is your friend.

If you want to take my route and learn with the Dota 2 models, first install this plugin:

Then go to this page for links to character model downloads:

Most of the Dota 2 characters are male, but most of the female characters are pretty hot to be frank. Try Queen of Pain if you want a half-naked woman to mess around with. Luna, Lina, and Drow Ranger have the skin-tight bodysuit thing down. Windranger's got an exposed midriff, but no boobs to speak of. There was previously a way to extract models directly from the game if you wanted to play around with different outfits and stuff, but I don't know how to do it since they moved the game over to a new engine. I'll probably look into it in the future, I do want to use the Crystal Maiden arcana model someday, just because her model actually looks like a woman now instead of a lumpy cave troll with implants.

Biggest thing I'd look into is messing around with Shape Keys and using keyframes. Keyframes are the basic tool for animating stuff, and Shape Keys let you tweak the model by applying some sort of distortion to the model directly. Perfect for inflation!

Once you're a little more familiar with messing with models in general, Valve (Dota 2's developer) has a short document on how to specifically texture its hero models. Applying the color and normal maps from the files are trivial once you know how to do it, but applying the masks will probably prove a little challenging. I did not apply the masks in the Lina animation above, but I've prepared a model of Luna using them, which I'm planning on animating. Anyway, here's a link to said document when you're ready: http://media.steampowered.com/apps/dota2/workshop/Dota2ShaderMaskGuide.pdf

I hope I didn't overwhelm you at all. Don't get me wrong, Blender's a little more complicated than most software you're used to, but if there's one big hint I can give you to make it easier, it's to learn to love keyboard shortcuts. They'll seem weird and awkward at first, but in the end they're way, way faster than clicking everything manually. And if you screw up, ctrl-Z is undo and ctrl-shift-Z is redo. If you have any more questions, let me know.

As for you other guys, thanks for the encouragment. I'll be open to criticism along the way, because I want to improve my 3D animation skills. Don't worry, I won't go full Tom Pres-- never mind. You know what I mean. ;P

oh wow! ^_^

Lina's simple animation. "Simple" haha ^_^ I can recognize talent and A WHOLE LOT of homework when I see it. I won't even guess how many hours you've spent - it's just insane ^_^

And man it worked out so good.

Good luck to your endeavours and looking forward to whatever you do!

Blender is not a simple tool (yet immensely powerful). Good luck in your further works!

Damn...and here I am not wearing my jean jacket and converse...can't view the image.

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men.

Process

It's a good start. ^^
