I've been thinking about writing a story with a "contagious element" being one of the main themes. Something along the lines of patient zero comes into contact with a mysterious virus or object and either instantaneously begins to expand or the "virus" lays dormant for a period of time before activating. As the first person (most likely a woman) begins to swell she becomes contagious and the "virus" begins to spread.
Now my question is how would the virus spread, what would be the reaction in the town, city etc. and what would be the outcome to the people who come in contact with it? I was thinking of popping since it adds a level of fear to the story but I know popping isn't everyones cup of tea so to speak.
Any input what so ever would be very helpful.
Thanks!
Meby this is a bioweapon virus. The villian in the story can make some toxic gas and put it in a parfume bottle. A woman buys the parfume and effect herself with this gas. She blows up till she (because the gasses make her inflate) and she pops. As she pops all the toxic gasses in her body will come free and spread. This gas infect the next 3 girls in the store, they pop and spread the gas to to the next inflatee.
This is my view on the story. I hope you like it.
And boom goes the inflatee
