A tabletop RPG

Hi all! How are you doing?

Making a tabletop RPG system is a constant source of fun for me, and I hope you’ll like inventing adventures and playing them, too.

If you'd rather just wait for its completion - it's totally fine, I'll do it anyway. But if you help a bit - we'll have it ready much faster.

Why it's the thing

I think you noticed that it might be fun to read a story or see a picture related to inflation, but it “doesn’t work the same way” next time. But change something in that story or picture each time – and you’ll like it again! That’s how everything living works, from bacteria to humans – life adopts to ignore repeating impulses. So instead of just reading the story, it’s more fun to imagine the world where it takes place and invent your own similar stories in it, maybe even with the same characters.

Now imagine doing the same leaving fetish side out of equation. Then it can be a social activity, for example, a tabletop - you keep your fetish all private, but you don't build a wall around you; instead you interact with people who enjoy your company as friends, or join you for a thrilling adventure, or are fascinated with balloons but not aroused. You play a tabletop with friends, and gradually get charged up as you play. It’s not immediately translated into arousal, but later on you’ll have much more fun in private life, since you’ve been submerged into (effectively) a several hours long inflation roleplay.

I’d like to let people do just that.

Why do I do it

Because it’s the thing – and because I also have a lot of fun creating it ^_^

End goals

A tabletop RPG system and a sample world setting

A program that facilitates the roleplay of inflationary battles – if Game Master has a computer, then the party can play the inflation parts in this program. Also, Game Master might use that program to plan inflationary encounters. Some lonely heart might use it all in private as a separate game

How to help?

Pick any you like most, and kindly let me know after how much time it’s best to contact you. For example – BD-1, 2 weeks. Thank you!

Brief descriptions (BD)

A computer game doesn’t need a detailed description covering all aspects of everything – it needs bright, short, concise phrases labelling each thing. Description in computer game is a short string, within 255 characters including spaces and punctuation. We need to prepare those from longer texts in player’s manual.

BD-1 - Please prepare brief descriptions for ability scores, backgrounds, classes, subclasses and realms

BD-2 - Please prepare brief descriptions for skills

BD-3 - Please prepare brief descriptions for items

Editing the manual (EM)

Player’s manual - “IA.doc” – is outdated. It still needs a lot of work before it’s complete.

EM-1 – Please structure the manual into three parts:

-       player’s guide – everything players need to play the game,

-       master’s guide – details that are best left secret to players,

-       world setting – details related to one specific inflation fantasy.

EM-2 – Please insert DA new versions into the manual

EM-3 – Please correct any English grammar, syntax and style mistakes

EM-4 – Please review the manual and put comments where I should add an example, or a picture

At least, just put a note where a text lacks clarity or needs an example. You might also hint what example or picture should be about. At most you might even provide full text (image)

Public relations (PR)

There’s a range of ideas from community that would be nice to add into either game characters in the editor, or in the sample world setting, or maybe into the rules.

PR-1 – Please analyze what community has offered and describe it in terms of this game mechanics

Please ask me for sources if you choose this task

PR-2 – Please convert an inflation story or picture into a sample adventure using this game mechanics

This will be used as an example and will be included either into master’s guide, or into world setting

Actually, ladies and gentlemen, let's do it another way ^_^

First of all, an apology. I'm sorry if I hurt someone in the past two weeks, verbally I mean. I've been very nervous, thrilled and excited the past two weeks.

A friend of mine - VioletGambit - made possible something amazing, a KS project. She and me will try to do something at the same time distantly related to inflation and mainstream enough to go public with our IRL identities. It WILL be hopelessly tame and as innocent as an inflation scene in a family movie. But you know me - I'll put every single penny back into what I'm doing, and won't forget your needs of course ^_^ All developments on this road will further inflation goals as well, at least partly.

Wish us luck when we go live in a week-two and please spread the word as the saying goes. Will let you know when we launch ^_^

P.S. And no, the fact I have real life LinkedIn on my KS profile does not mean you can write about inflation on either. My sexual life is nobody's business, and I'll report such stuff ^_^ Real to real, BI to BI, okay? ^_^

Oh awesome! Since YIM died we haven't really talked, glad to see your doing so well! Good luck, I'm rooting for you, i have

your friendly nighberhood Puffy Cheek Lover!

Lopni

Thanks partner! Without your testing I'd never have finished VSG! ^_^

Intrigue mode activated +5 to dramatic suspense -5 to patience

Lopni

Thanks buddy! Will do my best to deliver. Still, I do need a week to go for launch with some degree of confidence ^_^

Yrrall_Dlok1

Which is very reasonable, I'm just intrigued as a tabletop rpg player and of course being here lol

Hell yeah! I'm exited for this!

I think I've had too much...

Lopni

Praying for Thursday...ish... cause Tuesday is... unlikely.

Will keep you posted - surely a community who both knows me and likes balloons is a priority focus group ^_^

Lopni

And it seems - fingers crossed - we're up right here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/759296802/zorbing-time/

I'll double it in General discussion so that more people see it ^_^

Please mind, VioletGambit made this possible, all thanks to her, she's Creator ^_^

There are people with deep passion for tabletops and RPGs here, there are strong Game Masters.

Can you advise sites where GMs/DMs and players visit so that Violet Gambit and myself can promote our RPG to them?

Lopni

Hello!

Humbly presenting detailed contents of game mechanics rulebook. I hope it will help those who still sits on the fence. This game simply won't happen if cheers won't result in backing.

We had a lot of feedback – some praising us for a fresh idea, some saying the idea is too fresh. Tabletop players and tabletop designers say they have never seen anything like it. And although we are more than happy to bring something entirely new into the world of tabletop role-playing games, we won’t be able to if we don’t reach our goal.

This game mechanics can be used in multiple ways:

1. A role-playing game in a fantasy universe where people can play knocker ball any time. It’s a brand new fantasy world developed specifically for this game mechanics. An adventure in this fantasy world can take place in any century, ranging from prehistoric times to Middle Ages, to Renaissance, all the way to modern day with all your gadgets and professional knowledge legitimately in the game. An Update#1 gives an example of such gaming session.

2. Adding certain rules from our game mechanics into your adventure. This allows much more precise resolving outcomes of such actions as throwing, knocking off, ramming it, as well as rolling and flying after such impacts. You’ll know exactly what happens when a troll hits a paladin character in the chest – that’s where armor is strongest, armor saves paladin but where he lands after a spectacular flight? The manual explains how to add realistic flights, rolls and collisions into AD&D5, GURPS, Seven Seas and Star Wars game mechanics. More examples of how much more fun your module can become with addition of these few rules are in Update#4

3. Real world sports modeling – testing formations and tactical schemes of field knocker ball games on the table. Physically correct rules for collisions, flights and rolls enable characters on the board to replicate the movement of players in field knocker ball games. Game mechanics that allows that is discussed in Update#2

4. Tabletop – finally, don’t mind RPG, you can use the same board, balls and cards to play a tabletop. A few of such tabletop games are shown in Update#3

5. Inflation Formation - the same game mechanics is powering an inflation game for private life of our lovely community. ^_^ No, we won't cover that on KS, but you have a thread dedicated to Inflation Formation and a draft of interface ^_^

Also, surprisingly, many people don't know what is Knockerball so here's the link: Knockerball

Other names: bumperball, bubbleball

There are 50+ official producers world-wide, and I'm totally sure if you check it out, there is at least one place in your city, wherever you live, where you can get into the bubble and feel like a balloon.

Further reading/watching:

"The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon featuring Jason Statham has aired a hilarious inflatable ball race between the two. You can see it here: The Supreme Hamster Ball Race.

In addition to this, you can check out the story of UK TV presenter Lindsey Russell as she crosses the Irish Sea. Early 2016, Lindsey attempted to cross the Irish Sea in an inflatable sphere.

Last but not least, Jimmy Fallon, Collin Farell and Chris Prat engaged in a super funny bubble soccer suit match live on the Tonight Show."

(Zorbing Time)

"More fun than soccer, safer than football, cheaper than hockey, and bouncier than basketball. BubbleBall guarantees to make you spin, bounce and laugh like no other sport in history!"

(Bubble Ball)

“Even if you hate the sport and like bubbles even less, there's a good chance you'll enjoy the cartoonish qualities of bubble football.”

(Yahoo Sport)

“The first Zorb Extreme competition has been held in New Zealand this year [in 2005]… There are four kinds of zorbing: hill zorbing, hydrozorbing, water zorbing and snow zorbing”

(New Izvestiya, in Russian)

“I bolted toward my wife and moved in for a light check. One tap and she went flying – off her feet and, with an almost audible boing, onto her bubble-protected back…

A sumo wrestling competition, for example, pits two bubbled players body to body in a bid to be the last man vertical…

A challenge dubbed Chaos, meanwhile, sets a team of six on a race to the other side of the field – with another six headed in the opposite direction.”

(The Guardian)

“The 1991 film Armour of God II: Operation Condor features a scene in which Jackie Chan appears to roll down a mountainside in a flexible plastic orb very similar to the Zorb, except with only one entrance/exit tunnel, and with more space between the inner and outer orbs.

In 1994, Dwane van der Sluis and Andrew Akers conceived the idea for a type of sphere in Auckland, New Zealand, calling their invention the "Zorb". With two other investors they created the firm ZORB Limited, and set to work commercializing sphereing.

Sphereing is also referred to as Orbing or Zorbing, and Zorbing entered the Concise Oxford English Dictionary in 2001 where it was defined as: "a sport in which a participant is secured inside an inner capsule in a large, transparent ball which is then rolled along the ground or down hills".
