What if inflation was always the norm?

not sure how this thread will go, but it doesn't hurt to try!

so here's my big question: what if inflation was always the norm?

as in, what if everyone was into it from the beginning of time? :O

what changes would see in media, daily life, or even history?

i can think of one change: violet would definitely have to have been 18 or older, either that or that scene wouldn't even be in the film since it's a kids movie after all

Well, assuming that this is an "everyone" aspect of sexuality, with rare exceptions. Then it would basically work it's way alongside "sex" as a motivating factor of everyone. Real and fictional.

People have done weird things throughout history for marriage, sex, romance- this would simply also add "inflation" to that list. Bizarre historical examples of conquest, blackmail, or other actions- for the priviledge, right, or demand to inflate someone (or if people aren't inflatable- then have a creation or painting of such)

Inflation would go through various cultural phases of acceptance and embarrassment, viewed as a perfectly natural fantasy or action (depending on if just fantasy, or if actually possible) but for our time period work it's way into a private thing that everyone assumes everyone wants.

People and media would exploit inflation to make money, popping up in commercials, adult entertainment centers, "adult" jokes in children's films, pornography. Kept in a risque, but socially accepted, little tidbit to tantalize the sale.

Daily life wouldn't change that much- at most it would simply mean that the average person thinks about inflation in roughly the same ratio the average person thinks about sex. And assuming it could be done- maybe a tiny bit of inflation in exchange of masturbation.

The exact nature of semantics, like clothing, air and water economies, and such changes on if people themselves are inflatable, and if so- how much. From mild bulges to the full spherical thing. It's a broad world building question that has many answers depending on the scenario.

First of all, our space colonization could advance to the planets of Solar system already, as deflated people are much easier to launch into orbit.

Also it would lead to different attitude to violence, as people shot and punctured could be later patched and reinflated.

And a whole new series of capital punishment including inflating and bursting.

creating wifes and husbands would be able to hide their lovers in a shoebox in case of their spouse unexpected return.

An economic flight on a plane could be cheap as dirt for people flying without place. In order to do so, they have to be deflated by airport staff and inflated after the flight.

Some religions would consider casual inflation sinful and demand no extramarital inflation.

Its funny cause the word 'normal' is out of place. Normal, not normal, weird, unusual, sexy, kinky, dirty. Inflation in general is normal, but from a perspective. To us a human being inflating turns us on, we find this aspect arousing, sexy, kinky, dominating, you name it.

Their were, are, and always times when certain things werent labeled normal and now its like, 'yeah thats normal'

I think the only thing that would change about it is how others view it and how it becomes apart of all culture. One of these days it will be accepted as a normal part of what people like

If inflation is the norm, then it's mundane, not interesting, not sexy, go away, gonna sleep.

if you change one thing (yo, inflation is here!) and leave the rest unchanged (the world is operating like ours), then i guess not much will change ^_^ It'd remain a very niche thing. And it'd be totally and hopelessly safe - because it's been researched inside out and everyone knows how to live with it and has trendy gadgets for inflation

Oh, and fashion hypes that come and go would include inflation hypes. For example, occupying more space than you need when in bad mood or as a protest might become popular at some time, and then pass. Or inflation fashion - blowing up in a specific shape for specific occasions might become popular and then pass
