I haven't seen this posted yet, but I just saw this PVC Blueberry suit that the creators claim you can roll in, which is something you can't do with latex suits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xtcfyvblxQ Thoughts? Besides how ugly the "breasts" are on the suit?
"New" PVC Blueberry Suit
This is pretty much what I am working on myself, however this guy is way ahead of me as far as efficiency in production -_-;
I went ahead and asked a couple of months ago. It basically goes for the same as Squeak’s old suit but honestly this one looks way better. Even if it ends up being a dud rolling wise it has a nice shape and I love that it’s an actual fucking ball. Not a half assed oval with spaghetti noodle apendages sticking out. If and when I get the capital to buy it you better believe I’m snatching it to use with the Tri-State talent pool.
Ok, so I'm going to say that the price I got was around $700-800. Which is a lot. Maybe in a higher production quantity they would be cheaper. I can't really say that I trust the company though. The site has multiple instances of the same suit at different prices.
Let me just say that please have someone to help you at least if you do end up rolling. There is a real risk of neck injury or suffocation here and it would make one hell of a CSI episode.
I got quoted over 1,000.
Even though thier manufacturing techniques are superior to my own, I'm going to keep pressing ahead with my own design. At least I'll know that it will do exactly what I want it to do when it is complete.
I'll say this about the brand: From the people who I know that have gotten from them, they're crap quality inflatables with way too high a cost. Paint comes off fairly easily I'm told too, and they pirate a lot of designs, even from regular people who don't make the toys (characters, ETC...). Just be warned ahead of time.
I was thinking of buying one to test it out but was concerned about the durability of inflating pvc vs latex, as pvc doesnt have as much give in it, I also wonder how well it would seal, to my understanding PVC is usually stiched where as latex is glued.
Speaking from the other side - PVC is used in making the cheapest balls folks use to play football in a ball.
PVC balls are by far inferior to polyurethane balls in impact resilience and overall wear/look. Besides, PVC becomes fragile in cold weather (which might be not a problem in Australia ^_^ )
It's a cheap but crap material
Ask them how much it costs
