what are the earliest blueberry art, stories?

Feeling nostalgic today so I was wondering about this question. This website's archive indicates that thehappyguy "Blueberry Gum" was the earliest story from 1997. Was there anything before this? What about art? I'm very curious about the early days. I started viewing this stuff online in the late 90s and I do remember there just mostly being air inflation themed stories at that time.

Note: Please don't be smart and say the book or movies. I've heard that joke already. ;)

bizarre adventures of berrygirl, lordaltros, criticalvolume maybe

Berries are always sweet, no matter how sour they act, they'll always make the best juice.

Blueberryjuicer is remarkably on point on this one, as are you.

Blueberry material was pretty rare in the early days of the online inflation community. I can’t recall any stories older than BlueBerry Gum. The oldest blueberry art I could find with a quick search of my archives was from Pixel Prevert in 2002. He beat Critical Volume by a about a month. The Berrygirl comic showed up in 2003.

I wonder if Johnny Swell was the first person to think of tacking breasts onto a blueberry girl.

Another of the earliest blueberry artists was Freakinweirdo, who was definitely drawing blueberry stuff as far back as 2003, if not earlier. Also one of the first artists to cater heavily to the popping niche, as I recall. Uruseiranma was also a much bigger name in the community back then. Beach Blanket Blueberry was one of the few long-form blueberry comics in its time, alongside Berrygirl.

As for morphs, at the time they were mostly only to be found on ExpansionMansion, and Solo was arguably the go-to for berry material. Faridae showed up on dA not too much later, but I'm not sure by how much.

My memory for stories is a bit hazier. They're harder to find on deviantArt, and the BI.org archive is far from comprehensive. The only person I remember from around that time who was first and foremost a writer is blueberryjanelle. I never even cared that much for her stuff, but I remember it being everywhere.

Berrygirl predates even all of these artists and authors by at least a couple of years.  Freakinweirdo didn’t start doing blueberry work until at least 2005, and even then it wasn’t colored to look blueberry-ish.

It's just odd to me that there's a period from 1998-2001 where there was zero blueberry content at least as far as the archives I've looked at say.

It’s not blueberry but fits in with the Wonka theme: no later than 2002 Sickstar wrote Life is Peachy, about a girl who turns into a peach.

wow Life is Peachy, that brought back some memories. I haven't read that in years and I do remember that sickstar site too.

I remember around the time I wrote that, there was kind of a spate of stories that basically transcribed the dialogue from the Charlie movie with some set-up and slight variation. I never felt that mine was particularly inventive or original because of that. I think it's a matter of the others not being uploaded to this site. But I'm pretty certain I uploaded that one to the Usenet originally, so if you dug around in Usenet archives (ack!!!!!!) you might find some earlier.

Can't remember if I had any other blueberry stories from around then. After that one, I dropped blueberry content into plenty of stories, but before that one I think I was mostly writing fat-inflation. I was a long-time fan of the berry inflation, though, all the way back to remembering the book making me feel "weird".

full disclosure: I'm not sure "spate" is a word

But your timeline sounds about right ... as for pics, looking through my "old" pics folder, I see hardly any blueberries at all. Wait, there's a few from 2002 on. Looks like I was making "blued" girls by 2002, and I see someone's "purpled" girl from 2001, but that's just applying a color mask (I was always terrible at morphing).

I tried to find those stories you mentioned but not finding anything. I remember your story was the first time I ever realized someone else thought this way. It was like 98 or 99 when I first saw it I believe. I wrote to you on DA about it.

Yours was pretty memorable to me mainly because it's the first blueberry story I recall reading where the blueberries in question were grown women and there were elements of BE in them. It heavilly factored into my own stories. So, uh, thanks :)
