I'm not a big fan of male or suit inflation, but this was one of the earliest instances I can personally remember encountering inflation in media. Sports Illistrated for Kids had a comic called Buzz Beamer in it, in which the titular character was playing goalie in a hockey game. Instead of traditional pads, though, he had made a custom suit from plastic kiddie pools and was inflating it with a pump so he would completely block the goal. His friend questioned his methods and legality, then a different skater inadvertently skates over the hose. Buzz ends up in the rafters after whizzing around deflating.
I believe this particular comic would've been published in the late 90s, but unfortunately I did not save these magazines and I've had trouble finding more than a couple different random Buzz Beamer comics. It looks like there are a couple anthology series but I don't think they're comprehensive. So far I've found very little info about them. I can remember a lot of the specific comic itself vividly, but nothing else about which issue it came from. Just curious if anyone else ever saw this and knows anything more about it. I would buy the old issue if I knew which one, but I don't want to pay for the whole backlog of magazines just to find this one comic.
