A kind of holy grail, maybe

Been a while since I've posted here, but I figured this may be worth it to stop lurking.

Some of the older community members can recall that Stephen King once said in an interview that an old story he had written was inspired by an E.C. Comics issue where a couple made up of a fat woman and a thin man had a feud and ended up killing each other. He had blown her up like a balloon and she had put a trap that squished him.

Well, I found it. He got mixed up, though: it wasn't in E.C. Comics, but in The Thing. The story is called Family Mixup:

Very interesting find indeed.

Yeah, I was looking at this for agea. Interestingly enough I found it with the help of AI. Of course, these machine learning systems are pretty stupid and simply invent information (since they are glorified text predictors), but interestingly enough it directed me to certain sites where I found somebody who said King was mistaken with his reference, and that's led me to finding it.
