Flat Stanley

Kind of heard this off key while at the dentist, while in the dentist chair. It was mentioning this children's story called "Flat Stanley". Premise was a kid ends up literally flattened by his bedpost board, and the kids could use him to slip under doors and whatnot. They tried to fix his shape by inflating him at the end. This was all I remembered of; has anyone else ever heard of this story or already mentioned?

I remember the envelope bit. I can't remember them pumping him up at the end.

Well, there was this one comic that was found by someone over at The Process that had a similar set up, cept it was a girl and she was trying to lose weight. She got paper thin and then really fat (she looked like a ball when fat, more like an inflated look than fat). I was called "About the size of it", I think.

So many inflation drawings lack flow/life, they are just a girl standing around with a hose stuck somewhere and large whatevers.

I remember the book. And now kids can even get a flat stanley cutout to take with them on vacations and take pictures of him in different locations.

If flattening is your thing, there was an episode of the original Batman TV show (the one with Adam West) where Batman, Robin and Batgirl were all flattened by a villain with a ray gun. (luckily they were saved thanks to the Bat3D-izer)

Hey, I used to read that a lot when I was younger for some reason or other.

At the end of the book Stanley's brother inflates him back to normal with a bike pump. ^_^
