What happens post inflation?

I'm all for a good BOOM, no gore, though depending on if it's a throw-away doll, it should be permanent, if it's someone alive, they should regenerate. But, also enjoying full deflation.

I typically either go for deflation, bursting with regeneration, or simply an ambiguous ending, wherein we don't know if the inflatee bursts or not, whether they regenerate, nor anything else about what happens next!  Lately, though, I've been seeing the appeal in letting an inflatee burst permanently, as long as the character isn't one to whom I've become TOO attached.  :P

Though there's also the middle ground between permanence and regeneration, where the inflatee might not regenerate after bursting, but might still appear out of nowhere, fully formed, with no real explanation.  Our entire fetish revolves around fantasy/cartoon physics, after all.

Usually have the inflatee floating away or just being tethered. I feel with a pop it's hard to visualise the comeback sequence, whereas if they're tethered or float off it's left open ended.

I picked "multiple answers" because I've done them all at some point. Usually my stories end with people inflated but it's at least implied that they'll deflate eventually. I rarely depict the actual deflation, though. The second most common outcome is exploding, usually permanent. It's also fun to combine them (floating away and exploding, floating away to eventually deflate, etc.).
