I have a suggestion...

I think we should switch to the Gnutella2 network and use magnet links instead of torrents. They're simpler to use, and the whole thing is decentralized, so that means no tracker. And more importantly, everything is shared constantly, so no seeding.

Heres an example of a magnet hash: magnet:?xt=urn:bitprint:ZPZNDVZWOPBTWZ4JOQ47RADWJMWO623L.7DQJ2RCVDOMLLWVLVR73W4DD6IPIIS3IWW7J2FY&dn=file.txt
here's an explanation: magnet:?xt=urn:bitprint:[SHA1-Hash].[TigerTreeHash]&dn=[filename]

All you have to do with the magnet is copy and paste it to your client of choice. (BTW, a great one is Shareaza.)

Could someone please respond?

I'll take a look at Gnutella2. The first Gnutella was quite probmlematic if I recall, but hopefully they've made improvements.

Azureus supports magnet links as well. It's my favorite BitTorrent client, and the addition of magnet links to the DHT network makes it much more resilient than BitTorrent alone.

Do you know of any clients besides Shareaza? The ideal solution would be usable by more than just Windows users.

gtk-gnutella for linux, AcqLite for Mac. if AcqLite is the only p2p software installed(besides EDK2k, BT) than it'ss handle magnet links.
