Interview For An Online Magazine?

Hey,

This may sound a little wierd (doesn't everything)...

I recieved a message over at YouTUBE from a person named 'margaux' who would like me to answer some questions relating to 'home-made inflation fetish' and such for an online magazine interview...

It sounds a little fishy, but at the same time I'm compelled to write something.

I just wondered if anybody else in the YouTUBE inflation boat got a similar message, I just want to clarify whether it's utter SPAM or actually genuine. I suppose I could ask the sender personally, but I don't wish to offend them if it is genuine.

HELP! ^^;

Send the Thief in first.

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith.

Thief?

For gods sake,LISTEN TO THE ADMIRAL!!!!
HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHA!That was great!,my pc is slow,so at first I just saw the red words and then the admirals image started loading.
Err...anyway,hummm,we must ask ourselves why would an online mag. be interested in our little pasttime. The huge numbers of closet inflation fans??
There is humiliation at the end of this path.Good thing we are all so anonymous.

>Many A Quirk...and I don't mind.
>Oh My That's Big...Make It Bigger!

kuumuzu

I laugh in the face of humiliation! Good thing is that my (foot)inflation channel on YouTUBE is completely anonymous. ^^

However, I replied to the message with some questions and got a positive reply. It isn't spam. Myself and two other people have been asked, I'm assuming that you're one of the other two mosherballoon.

The interviewer in question is from Switzerland and is making a small online magazine article about interesting and different homemade fetish practices, like the body inflation videos that mosher creates and what I've got myself doing. I'm guessing that foot inflation must be either one of those... ^^;

I'm going to answer the questions I've been given with a little depth, but not too much and just see where this goes.

I wonder who the third person is?

In those questions you asked, did you ask them to send you a link to the online mag in question??

digdug-lee

Alrighty, sounds legit enough.I'd be interested in seeing that article also.
You're correct, kumuuzu, what can they do to you anyway? Humiliation is moot in this particular case.
The word humiliation was not my best choice,it has an air of paranoia about it.

>Many A Quirk...and I don't mind.
>Oh My That's Big...Make It Bigger!

kuumuzu

As far as I'm aware there is no online magazine at present, but I will be sent a link and information when the article goes up.
I keep having second thoughts... One minute it seems like a good idea and the next I'm thinking "well, that was a bad decision".
This person is genuinely interested in writing a short article about these 'home-made inflation practises' but I get a little skeptical about whether it will be 'legit' until it's published/posted and end up being a mockery.

Thinking about the right things to say with just enough information is a pain.
Sure I want to explain how I became an inflation fetishist, why I like it and other bits and pieces of info. I just don't want to go "HEY! My name's **** and I like to blow up girls!"

I plan to be minimalistic, to the point and try very hard not to anger anybody in this forum/interest by saying something stupid.

But I do wonder, will people even be interested in the slightest about understanding why I pretend to inflate my feet? ^^;

digdug-lee

Perhaps someone is doing a college research paper on this.
Yeah,I hear ya.Its so very personal.
Talking to others of our group is fairly easy,I mean,I have said things about myself on here and some other sites that I had never uttered to anyone.
Talking to an "x" someone, about this stuff and not getting real deep, because who knows what their angle is.

>Many A Quirk...and I don't mind.
>Oh My That's Big...Make It Bigger!

Zepylin

I'm not so sure, myself. Even if the person is being legit I generally have reservations about displaying fetishes so publicly, since most of the people who read about them aren't looking for understanding; they just want some freaks to laugh at and make jokes about.

It's the same with these documentaries on the TV that try to show the secret "goings on" of fetishists and such, but all it does is make people think "OMG THAT'S HORRIBLE". They do nothing to promote understanding whatsoever.

Every so often someone from the media gets interested, or it could be a student research project.

A few years back, The Daily Show contacted me for an interview and, when it became clear that I was aware that a) I was weird and b) they were cool, they suddenly stopped talking.

kuumuzu

I'm sure that he means well.
From what I've seen of his web page he seems like quite an interesting person, and as inflate123 says; "It could be a student research project" I would believe that.
I'm not afraid to admit that, yes I may be considered wierd by some people, heck I'm sure we all are. I can't be sure of who the target audience is or what they will think, it's up to the people that read the interview to make up their own minds and think what they'd like to think.

It's certainly not my intention to blow the whole inflation fetish wide open to the public. All I am doing is supplying a little information about myself and what I do with my fetish and habits surrounding it. This is just somebody that wishes to scratch the surface of this fetish and make an interesting article with a couple of small interviews.

All I can see this being is an informative piece of writing. If people want to read it and laugh, that's their decision. If people are enlightened a little then that's a good thing, isn't it?

I'm sure some of you remember this:
http://www.deviantdesires.com/map/inflation.html
I can see it being much different to be honest. I just wish the other people that were mailed would write a little something for the article, regardless of what people may think as I've been told that I'm the only person to have replied and taken the interview seriously... something I have been thanked for.

I think that's a good attitude. I took it with Katherine talked to me about Deviant Desires and I happily gave her contact info for other people that I thought would be similarly inclined; it's kind of an honor when someone says "Hey, what you do is unusual; can you tell me?" You can only hope that someone reads the thing and their mind is opened by the end.

I was interviewed a long time ago for a humor column on AOL, back in the mid-90s, when AOL was bigger than the internet. LVKane got a mention, and Xydexx was contacted too, since he was kind of out there at the forefront of his inflatable fetish as well. I archived the interview and reading it again 10 years later, I don't think it could have been more polite and harmless. May yours turn out as even-keeled as this one.

FWIW, I don't think we ever have to worry about being "mainstream."

kuumuzu

Thank you for the reassurance inflate, reading your comment has filled me with a confidence that this could be a good thing. I remember reading that article a long time ago, it may be humorous but at least it shows us to be good people.

Oh and of course, we'll never be mainstream! ^^

Though it would be nice for some people with lots of money to use CGI wizzadry to create an inflation pornography... *smiles*
Yes, ...that would be very nice indeed. ^^;

digdug-lee

Yes,there is a big difference between being on an Web Mag story and being put on the Daily Show.
(Pretty cool, there Inflate123,you look like a real super hero person in that suit;deviantdesires story)
Its too bad,Kuumuzu, that not more people were really into doing it.
There has got to be more inflationists interested in talking publicly about the fetish.Maybe, they just arent aware of it.
How the heck did they find you and the others, anyway,by checking out DA and sites like this?

>Many A Quirk...and I don't mind.
>Oh My That's Big...Make It Bigger!

kuumuzu

No, I got a private message on YouTUBE relating to my inflation videos.
And two others did too, mosherballoon being one.
I don't know if there were people from other sites asked... I think it was just us because of the videos we were making.

I've got all my answers typed up now and emailed away with some screenshots of my videos attached. I've got to wait about a month now for the article to be finished then I'll post a link here. ^^

DwarfPriest

Apparently they want to know about internet fetishes. A guy interviewer-ed me on DA once. By what I heard later, he planned on making silly questions and make fun of me, but I sounded too serious, so he decided to make a serious interview... XD

kuumuzu

How'd it turn out in the end for you with the serious interview then?
It's a pain when people deliberately go out of their way to mock or make fun, but it seems good that this guy turned his interview around because of your serious answers. ^^
