just was looking around through some groups today and I saw that heliumgirl posted a manga she found in the floatsyourboat yahoo group. It kinda looks like it's from Negima but I'm not sure.

Actually, that's the first panel. Japanese reads right-to-left, and when Del-ray (the group that translates Negima) did the translation, they left the images the same (instead of reversing them) and simply translated the word bubbles.
Probably more than you wanted to know, but with that knowledge, you should be able to make a bit better sense of the dialogue (not that anyone here cares about the dialogue.)
On another, seperate note, I can't I subbmitted my request to join the group floats your boat over a week ago and the moderator still hasn't given me permission. Is the group dead or something?
