Hi, I'm attempting again to make a videogame. I should have continued one of the previous ones, but I felt more like making a new one. Anyways this one has benefitted by the water inflation test practice. This time she even has a shine and shade in the round body.
I'm making this one for a Game Maker competition at Yoyogames. This time I think it's more likely that I finish it because there's money as a reward for the first three places, and that impulses me (I hope not to sound too greedy :D ). Anyways even if I lose this will show how would be a finished game by me.
The game would be a shooter. It involves a mermaid that absorbs bubbles that get into her way and shot them to the foes. She can't fire if she hasn't any bubbles. The more she has, the bigger she is, and a easier target for enemies. I think I should have the obstacles adapting to the size of the protagonist, so there would never be something unavoideable.
I plan to make her able to push herself against walls and floors and flatten a bit, that helping to avoid some threats.
Also in some parts you should have to keep the bubbles and avoiding enemies without shoting them in order to save them for a chest or oyster that contains a key or another item you have to collect for a final stage(somewhat like the emeralds in the Sonic games).

Thoughts?
This sounds very similar to Ziarre's Quest, a game by Rathani. You can get it here. I don't know if you've heard of it before, but you might want to come up with a different concept if you don't want to be accused of plagiarism.
