Ooh! I actually made a post about this awhile ago. :) She inflates her dress with helium in that episode.
I was hoping seeing this pop up meant someone finally found it, I never did. :(

"My Little Margie" was an American show from the 1950s. From what I can tell from episode guides and such, she inflates her clothing to make herself look fat, in order to scare away a blind date. But when he turns out to be friendly and handsome, she reconsiders. But what exactly happens after that (whether she floats, or whether her dress explodes, or whatever), I have no idea.
There are a few episodes posted at archive.org (some specific episodes are evidently no longer copyrighted), but unfortunately not that one. I too am very curious to see it, though, especially since female body (or, in this case, clothing) inflation was practically nonexistent in the 1950s.
I definitely hope someone here can find it.
