Inflation movie

Hello all! I've just been rolling a thought around my head and wanted to know what you all thought of it.

Although there are plenty of inflation clips out there from various sources, I have yet to see (or hear of) a feature length (120 minutes +) inflation movie. I think it could work because the length opens the door to almost any kind of inflation all in the same movie.

I realize the execution of this would be quite an undertaking but if any of you do like making movies then maybe you could run with it.

Anyway, thanks for listening ^^

I'm a revolutionary of sorts.

Mood Boobs is more than a clip, yet less than a feature, and is thematically centered around inflation.

I also recall a Blue Falcon and Dynomutt episode from my childhood that featured a villain with a signal that could be broadcast by radio to inflate the populace into immobility.

There is an episode of the Japanese series Madan Senki Ryukendo posted on-line with (again) an inflation villain threatening to pop his victims.

I'm sure there are more examples. So inflation does appear as a running topic in some productions, rather than as a momentary gag. A feature-length production, however, sounds too much like an x-rated movie where the flimsiest of plot turns is used as an excuse for more titillation.

You can't red-line an engine continuously without burning it out. Even Macbeth needed a gatekeeper scene. In the movie Eddie and the Cruisers there is a scene where Eddie asks the resident egghead to define caesura, a dramatic pause in poetry. From my own experience, I recall a band member telling a new drummer -- who tended to play too fast and too hard -- that one could be just as artistic not hitting the drums as hitting them.

It's yin yang. There can't be pressure without some vacuum.

The closest that comes to mind offhand is Catnapped! which runs at 77 min. and has inflation as one of the central themes.

If anything, I'd suspect anime to eventually have a movie about said topic, but more than Catnapped, and to the point where it's the focus of the show.

I mean... you have anime about bread making, and one about the former leader of Japan playing Mahjong against Hitler who's been on the moon. I'm sure if someone makes an inflation based anime, no one will be the wiser :)

Your neighborhood friendly inflation content lurker. ^_^

Wonder what type of anime it would be if they did that? Most likely a comedy but I could wrong. A Harlem on the other hand, that would be just plain wishful thanking.

"Harlem"? "Thanking"? Perhaps you meant "harem," which would be wishful thinking. There is already a sub-genre referred to as "harem anime" (or manga).

Yes that's what I ment, harem. I thought Manga is what they call japanese graphic novels.

Correct:

anime = animated cartoon
manga = comic book

I'm sure most of us here would readily write an inflation themed feature length movie if we could. The things standing in our way would be:

a) how to base a whole movie around inflation while also disguising the fact it is a secret fetish of yours. Notwithstanding the embarrasment factor, you'd have a problem getting funding and hiring cast and crew if everyone new the entire premise of the thing was that it was your personal fetish. It would make them doubt whether it could actually be a commercial success or be critically acclaimed since you obviously have motives other than commercial and artistic ones.

b) Money... even an indie movie would be expensive to create, and very few people who don't have a track record in the industry could get funding to produce their own movie; and this brings us back to 'a)', you're even less likely to get funding if people know it's just a fetish.

c) Time, producing a movie is a lot of work, and most of us have day-jobs.

So the best hope then is to just hope that a serious film-maker with real resources, for some reason decides to make inflation a central theme in their film. Unfortunately I don't think this is very likely to happen... as themes go, it would be a fairly flimsy one... even Mood Boobs only has a few minutes worth of inflation in it.

A 120 minute inflation movie? What am I going to do with the other 100 minutes?

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men.

You'd need to get a lot of people who are both good at making film and are into this sort of thing. I think that's rather unlikely, at least at this point in time.

Its still nto a bad idea if its done right tho everyone. If u think about it, if it was covered right, it would increase the comunity 10 fold

make um big, and make um real.

In what way would increasing the community "10 fold" (whatever that means, if you mean 10 times, say 10 times) be of benefit?
