I'm not really sure how well pictures do this, since there's always a good number of "make this a sequence!" comments out there.
I'm not trying to be down on anyone here, and like I said, I'm not shakespere myself.
I'll read plenty of stories that are lack-luster reads and be able to still see effort. I agree with that. Regardless, there are many stories, that are nothing but fragmented paragraphs. I get frustrated because no matter how hard I try, some simply can only be the result of laziness.
Also, to cover myself, I like the stories of those who posted here, Gokusen, Maximillion, Darth-Clone, Dragon, Inflate123 and all the others. None of my comments are aimed at you guys.
Its hard to feel motivated sometimes to write, but I agree with LvKane, you can't write and hope to hear mounds of feedback, it just doesn't happen. Posting it here gurantees some readership, so be content in that. ^_^
To refer to the original post, I feel Inflation-Chan would be a bad idea. Seems like inflation art's sorta become a low level whipping boy due to the modification of the term to cover any sorta expansion. Fat, water, air, creame pies, what have you. I suspect an I-Chan setup would turn into 1 part relevant comments and 34 parts trolling crap from online 14 year olds with nothing better to do for the day.
As far as writing goes, I don't write anymore. Thus I can't really claim to have an opinion on it all. Never could quite figure out what I was interested in writing specifically, and the commentary I recieved typically ran like "Y'know, that story might have been cool if you'd have written _this_! (two page synopsis of their characters in the lead roles) Well, that and "Story r' goot. Do more. Mail to me." Not so helpful in considering decisions or likes.
Inflation-chan seems like it would be a bit too small of a community to function for very long. However, if one were to create a BodyTransformation-chan, this would open up more possibilities. Our cousins in the body transformation fetish range include BBW, pregnancy, weight gain, stuffing, gigantism, shrinking, objectification, flattening, etc. Since this is a much more diverse range, more people are likely to form the community and actually keep it functioning.

That's one of the things I like best about this site. It really has come to feel like "home base."

True but that's often because people just want to see more stages of inflation, the key word being 'see', pictures are more about instant gratification, nothing wrong with that of course they are still works of art; just ones that save the viewer the effoft of using his/her imagination. How we visualise inflation is the most fundamental part of our fetish, so we need pictures; but the people who don't read stories or complain that stories don't cut to the chase are probably looking for the same instant gratification in a story that they can get in a picture.
When did we stop having discussions like this?
Because the original topic (inflation chan) exists at inflatechan.net, but it focuses on inflation art more than stories. I just read some of the older comments about there wouldn't be enough interest to keep it going. That's kind of funny, since the current Chan gets content added pretty much every day. But the comments about trolls is pretty much right on the money.

I think it depends whether you care about the emotional side of inflation... If you see inflation almost as an S&M type experience then you probably do want to feel the inflation, hear about how panicked the inflatee is, how much the inflatrix is enjoying it and you also want to understand the characters' emotions, therefore you need a backstory and build-up... however other people (perhaps gokuson included) have a different take on the fetish, and just want to visualise the inflation. really short descriptive stories do this... pictures do it better.
