Better way to seal plastic bags?

So I inflate using plastic trash bags (cheap, yes, easy to replace, yes) but I have only ever managed to get a good seal on them around 3 times using tape tightly wrapped around the bag neck and pipe leading into the bag. Do any of you have any ideas as to how I might be able to seal the bags better so they actually last a while?

Simple...use rubber bands. Either cut one and stretch/wrap where you normally tape, or just loop it as is several times until tight. Should be better than tape, and tighter.

Or a twist tie, you know on a bread bag, or sometimes the garbage bags come with them.  They are larger than bread twisties, or find larger ones.  Wrap the twistie around twice before you twist it.  Or a hose clamp, like for a car.  Most hose clamps you need a screw driver to tighten but they make some with a wing bolt that you can tighten by hand.  Try the auto parts store.

Never actually gave thought to plastic welding, seems a bit awkward to try do and the hose clamp/cable tie/twitst tie idea shall definately be given a go!

After i blow up the trash bag in my jeans i just twist the end up real good and stuff in back down the front, and it stays inflated good.

How do you even inflate with a trash bag?
