Anal inflation difficulty

Hey everyone, been a lurker on here for quite a while now, and I have a question about anal inflation for the more experienced fetishists on here.

I had never actually done an inflation myself, it's always been my girlfriend who does it - funnily enough I was the one who introduced her to it. Anyway, she's done it plenty of times and lately I couldn't help but wonder what it feels like, so I decided to give it a go myself; only issue is that I couldn't actually inflate.

I used a large manual pump with a small nozzle for easy insertion, but when I pumped I retained literally none of the air - essentially it was like I was farting it out straight away. I tried pressing the nozzle of the pump as far in as comfortable but that didn't work, and trying to clench my butthole shut to hold the air in actually just forced the nozzle out. Is this something that happens sometimes or am I doing something wrong?

On second thought, the nozzle is quite small, only about 2" long (maybe less) and about 1/4" wide. I couldn't push it in very far due to the pump having a bulky part where the nozzle attaches to. Could this be something to do with the issue?

Apologies for the triple post, completely unintentional.

Correct equipment is essential, yes. But, your problem sounds like it's also inexperience. Clenching is good practice, so you're on the right track. Sounds like your set up is a little bulky, so I'd suggest a smaller tube and/or nozzle, and keep practicing retention techniques. Practice makes perfect in just about everything.

Best of luck.

Just a little more. You can take it...I hope...

Being an inflationist for around 4 years now I can say that one of the biggest hurdles are equipment and relaxation. If your inflating with air, do yourselves a favour and get an aquarium pump (some are adjustable). They output a nice, slow amount of air with no action required, and gives your body plenty of time to adjust while you inflate so you don't have to stop. Being completely automatic you'll want to and be able to just lie back and relax. Now, this is important, as I personally think that relaxation is key to best retention.
Think about this, while the body is perfectly adapted to passing gas, it's not really built for holding gas/liquid. That being said it's perfectly able to hold a rather large amount if needed, and with training and patience you can train your body to use your holding muscles to retain.
Another hurdle I think I see here is that the nozzle may not be able to stay inside or inflate the area past the anus. See, if the nozzle isn't far enough in then it'll sit in the anus, which will really leak air if your just pumping into that. However if it can enter the rectum (without pushing in too far as that could cause damage) then what you'd do from there is just let a bit of air in until your comfortable and it's adjusted, and slowly go from there. As soon as you feel the air move into the descending colon you should be able to speed up from there and inflate till your belly has distended lots.

TL;DR get an aquarium pump and relax. Don't use your muscles when inflating and either have your SO help or just insert, relax, and turn it on. Once you get a feeling for your internal muscles and learn how to take in your body should retain automatically with a bit of retention.

(PS: You can also try an enema kit (my preffered method now) but that probably would be even harder to retain. Just putting the options out there.)
