Idea: Expansion Podcast

Evening everyone, hope all is going well in your worlds. Recently I've been seeing a great deal of podcasts pop up for groups(whether gaming or otherwise), and it has got me thinking. At the moment I'm currently working on putting together a gaming PC that I intend to use for Twitch(maayyyybe youtube) but now I'm thinking I could make use of it in another way.

Granted that new content is relatively scarce, my thought with this podcast would be to find one or two other people to co-host with. One would likely be an artist, the other an animator/writer/expansion buff from the expansion community. I literally have no idea who I'd choose, as there are so many options, but I'm just saying what's coming to mind at this point.

For topics we could do content provider highlights, preview/full video reviews, special guests, theorizing about media, the future of the community as a whole...the list goes on. Looking at the future of this idea, I'm not shooting for anything grand. Honestly I'm just interested in talking to people from around our community, seeing their view points on things, getting into debates, that sort of thing.

Lastly, no, I don't even have a name for what I'd call this podcast, so lets not jump that gun just yet. Anywho, thoughts on this? Bad idea, good idea?

clovis

Good idea.  Problem is, everyone has such different tastes and opinions.  My only tip is to have fun with it.

pballooned

Sounds interesting.

This would be like a radio show, right? I'd be willing to be a guest sometime, but I would kind of need to be prepared for the questions beforehand to practice a bit, as English is not my native language.

I'm an artist, and here's some of my stuff: http://pballooned.deviantart.com/gallery/

@Clovis Fortunately that's what I'm counting on. Different tastes will lead to differences in opinion, debate such and such. Podcasts aren't all that fun when everyone agrees on the same thing.

@pballooned No worries, but thank you for offering to be on. It's a long far off idea right now. Once this comes closer to fruition I'll be sure to talk with all hosts and guests for about 30 minutes before hand to ready topics and answers.

I do kind of like this idea, it's like a group chat debating things with inflation members. I don't really have a lot of privacy in my house so I don't want to talk much about inflation, so for that reason alone I'd have to say I'm out for now sorry.

(Not on here too often, replies might be slow.)

WinglyKing

Well, it wouldn't be specifically inflation members, but a majority of time it might end up being that way. From time to time we could have a Macro/Micro community individual come around and talk, or someone else from the expansion side of the internet.

To be honest I was thinking to have you as one of the co-hosts given your knowledge of real inflation, figured I'd let you know that. If in time things change, all the better. If you're still in the same situation by the time this podcast becomes a thing, no worries whatsoever.

Well thanks! I appreciate you considering me for that! Yeah, I'll see what I can do to set up for that, hopefully, I can work something out regarding that. I didn't really think I was actually valued around here.

I think it would be good to have macro/micro members on as well. Diversification is always a good thing for discussion, but we all have a common interest of growth and/or size. I'm also all for that.

I have the tools (microphone, software) to participate and/or assist with this if you need it.

A snippet of such an idea:

Host 1: I want to this artist/scene/scenario.

Host 2: I also wank to this.

Host 1: .....so....wank to anything else lately?

Host 2: .....not really.

Roll credits.

Those of you who volunteered to be injected with praying mantis DNA, I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news is we're postponing those tests indefinitely. Good news is we've got a much better test for you: fighting an army of mantis men.

We can always count on good insight from you.

Honestly, I don't see it going this way. Considering that I already treat this community as non-sexual I wouldn't be stereotyped as a part of that. I think the right members can actually have a good chat about things without it degrading into fap material.

ACG is right I think it could be just like all the other podcasts out there and not just two people talking about "fap material" As some other people had already said it could be about almost anything relating to the community.

New clips, stories, morphs and general discussions about what's going on. Whoever was doing it could probably contact different studios and models and ask them their opinion on the fetish and how they feel about it. I'm sure taylor made clips and Maxgrowth would be on board and maybe some clips4sale models.

I call them like I see them....I think that is how the saying goes?

You're entirely too optomistic then if you don't see it devolving into something like that. I'll be lenient and say that if it did come to fruition, it would only last a single episode or two before you either A. Run out of topics/artists/scenes or B.You just jump right into it.

I don't want to start a big back and forth argument with you but I think that you may be leaning towards the pessimistic side when it comes to a lot of topics. I view it as if somebody wants to do it and give it a shot let them do it. If you have feedback on ways to avoid situations or what could be done to make whatever it may be better then I'm all for people commenting and giving suggestions.

I don't like when and this goes for everything not just this community in general, comes to someone or a group with an idea and is shot down with a bunch of negitive comments that have to substance to them. The taylormade clip forums are a good example, for awhile she was posting clips and the only response was "that's horrible, it sucked etc" If they would actually explain what they didn't like it would help everyone out in the long run wether it be taylor adjusting her clip style or prospective buyers looking for a new clip.

Lighten up a little.  I can appreciate some biting sarcasm, so I thought the comment was amusing.

After all, the points are somewhat valid.  It's harder than one might think to fill airtime, and without allowing the discussion to degrade into "is this [story or artwork] hot or not" the podcasts would have to be rather short, probably 10-15 minutes max.  It could work with the right execution, but I think it would have to have laser focus on very specific topics.  E.g. doing a critical analysis of an artist's or author's work over time, perhaps interviewing people in the community.

Whether any of that would be a good listen is another story, though.  A few here would be interested, but I imagine most people in the community at large would prefer seeing content producers spending their time churning out stories and artwork instead of participating in podcasts.

A kink fetish community can start out based entirely around the sexuals aspects. I understand that. I feel though that this community is diverse and progressive enough(save for a few...) to communicate without regard to the sexual side of the kink. Sure it may come up, I wholeheartedly expect it to from time to time, but I will make certain it doesn't dominate the podcast.

I just want there to be a content outlet that isn't just fetish videos, art, animation, etc. I know that many out there are simply here for just process material, but its something different and I'm hoping enough people can agree to that.

That said, the checks are in, talks with my computer master buddies are in place, and I've already started purchasing some equipment. Should take some time, but hey, progress!

I would completely support this venture:)

I think it sounds kinda cool. Talk about various artist or writers and review certain things from time to time.

That Grumpy Writer

I've thought about the possibility of a podcast before, too. Actually spent time talking with some friends of mine about it, but I don't have a way to follow through on it. We went as far as coming up with a name, but not much else, really. The name's not very good, but just to throw it out there in case it gives anyone better ideas, the name I came up with was Super Glomp. It sucks, but here you go.

Also, been reading what people have been talking about and 10-15 minute episodes are probably the best idea. Pretty much everything doubleintegral said is a good idea. To add to it though, the episodes should be spaced apart long enough so that ideas don't run dry within a few months. What the podcast is about is entirely up to you, but I can see plenty of material in debates. Reviews though, I can see that easily becoming nothing more than a hot or not kind of thing very fast. I really do think a podcast is a good idea, and I hope it gets off the ground.
