My review of the Inflatable Latex hood from Squeak Latex

(Video link at the bottom for unboxing and first time wearing it!)

An hour ago I got my inflatable Latex hood from Squeak Latex, and I gotta say this is something else (and I mean that in the best way!). First off, yes it's just like a double layered suit, but on the head, it feels a bit different. There's almost more stimulation and relaxation, and being a big fan of that full body pressure sensation it was a very warm welcome. It was also good for isolating the ears a bit so there wasn't as much noise (aside from the breathing sound).

Now I'm not here to give a critical review as there's just too much to like about it and I don't have any other hoods. Being nit picky is just not something I want to do in the grand scheme of things. If you'd like to do that feel free to grab a hood yourself ;)

So I'll start with what I like:

  • Zipper placement. I like the zipper on the back of the hood and of all the places it had to be that was the best choice. Doesn't get obstructive and it feels fine when lying down on my pillow.
  • The neck collar: At first I found it a little tight, but after inflating the hood it felt right in place and despite not being inflatable still felt rather relaxing to wear.
  • Inflation valve: Easy to find, easy to inflate. 'Nuff said.

Now for the things that I'd prefer, but didn't detract from the experience

  • Longer breathing tube: When inflated I found I had to push the tube towards my mouth and bite down on it a little bit to hold it in place.
  • Eyes didn't really fit me: This is probably on me, as I did order XL and/or I didn't use lubrication with the hood. I'm sure that with some adjusting it would have been fine.

Also, what I found a little weird is that the hood came in a Target bag. Why a target bag exactly? Why not like bubble wrap or something else? And no business card with my hood? Eden man, have some class! (coming from someone who doesn't actually own a business).

All in all, I recommend this product if you're into a nice full pressure head sensation.  Build quality looks good (not a latex craftsman here), the hood is easy to don, wash, and inflate.Inflatable Latex Hood

Hey hey,

Glad you're having fun with the hood! Appreciate the feedback.

Just some tips. Regarding the eyes, this is with any inflatable hood. Because what happens is when most people put an inflatable hood on, they just pull their face into it. You want to make sure the inner layer is pull back over your head. Otherwise it will bunch up in front of the forehead, when you inflate, this will balloon down in front of the eyes. (I noticed this in your photos). Just some tricks and tips. Getting used to it.

Regarding the breathing tube. This is actually made short on purpose. Other hoods have a long breathing tube. I found the biggest complaint with this from myself and others over the years from other makers is jaw fatigue. Your teeth, your mouth, your jaw will start to hurt holding that thing your mouth. The trick here is. Don't bite down on it at all. Let it float in front of your mouth. It's not going anywhere, breath normally. There is no need to put it in your mouth other then when you first put the hood on to hold it in place. As the are not lenses in the eyes. You can breath out your nose too (which will go through the eyes.) You should be able to breath quite normal.

Hopefully these two things will help you use the hood a little better.

As for the Target bag?

Simply put. After the big move all my business cards, fancy little bags and such are all in storage in Chicago. (don't ask). So I have to find the means to get over there at some point and bring it to my home on the east coast. I only just ran out of business cards that I had on me.

Since the package was going to be discarded anyway, I was being environmentally friendly by using shopping bags I already had. I wasn't aware this would be an issue for people. I'm a bit environmentally conscious like this.

All in all, sounds to me like you're having fun. Try the pointers above and those issues you have should go away with practice. It's a new experience, I understand. :)

Thanks again!

Hisssssssssssss.. ...uh oh!!

I gave that a try the second time around and it did fit much better. A little hard to see but like you said it just requires a bit of tinkering around as I've never used this before.

I kind of figured that would be true, it was just a matter of preference for me (being new down the line I'm sure I'll be glad it's short). I knew it would be best that it wasn't long but I kind of wanted it longer for breath play purposes. It's perfectly fine, though I'm just in the minority for preference and I'm sure I can adjust it as needed. Breathing is absolutely not an issue at all.

I was mostly just kidding around. It's just funny when you spend +$300 CAD on a product you find it strange it's packed in a plastic shopping bag. But I'm all for environmentally conscious decisions, and it's absolutely no issue at all. Just a little funny was all.

You had me at Chicago.

So I have to find the means to get over there at some point and bring it to my home on the east coast. I only just ran out of business cards that I had on me.

I only ask because my friend got them in and I was a little envious. If you can even send a PDF or photo of them that'd be good enough for me :)

If it wasn't for common sense in public, I'd probably wear this to work and at work. One of the most comfortable things I've ever worn!

Thanks again!
Your very welcome! I'm hoping I can support you more in the future!

Edit/update #1: definitely agree with the shorter tube. Not that hard to pull in and you would get jaw fatigue if you had to hold it in your mouth. Try it with some breathable tube, you'll see what I mean.

Can see out the eyes much better, but if you inflate too much it'll start to inflate the forehead peice, reducing visibility (I'm actually glad for that so I can get more complete pressure).

Target bag works well for carrying lunch.
