Violet Beauregard Cast in New CatCF Broadway Musical

Yes that is Bearegard without an e. It might just be a typo but that is how it is spelled on their website. Take a look.

If you were not aware Warner Brothers decided to go ahead and cast the kids not named Charlie as adults. Good for us. Note that they will still be played as kids but anyone with two eyes can tell the difference. Also Violet is black in this adaptation. She is the only kid character that calls for a specific race which is interesting though this is most likely because she "raps" in this musical. Of note too is the fact that Veruca is being played by a by my standards smoking hot Cuban-American actress. Shame but I guess we can't all win.

Either way I am excited to see how they handle her fateful scene. They might expand (haha) upon the way they did it in London but with a presumably bigger budget and better costumer/sfx lead they might trast it differently. Maybe they will actually accomplish a proper rolling blueberry costume for her? One can only hope I would love to see it is possible besides the 1971 styrofoam ball.

Violet in London's inflation focused mainly in her butt and thighs for the visual effect. The actress cast as Violet has a pretty curvy/vuluptious body so I'm very interested in how they tackle this effect. Given the variation that adult women have in their bodies as opposed to the teens/pre-teens cast in London I imagine the effect can't really be the same as London's. Especially when you consider the fact that Violet already has a bottom half that compared to the old effect would be considered already "halfway inflated". Perhaps a more traditional full round body inflatable suit would be used as opposed to London's suit that focused on womanly curves? Who knows I am just specualting but I am mostly excited to see what ideas we can garner from what would hopefully be a new practical effect.
