Is an interesting point of view, although I am fans of costumes or costumes that inflate like to work is fun to think of people who can inflate to their own taste and criterior, that makes me think, what happens to them and the fetishe Of the latex clothing that is inflated?
Inflation Preservation (fantasy)
In connection with pneumaticchick's Balloon Girls concept, I envisaged a race of humanoid aliens called the Aurelians who arrived on Earth and could only survive inflated. They consist of thin elastic membranes which perform all their biological functions like jellyfish, hence the name, deriving nutrition and respiration from the atmosphere and photosynthesis if I recall correctly. Because Pneumaticchick's world seems to involve them reaching this planet and taking all the low-paid jobs and then being hunted down to be overinflated or popped with pins, darts etc, my take on it is that they're basically like the aliens in Alien Nation - they were a slave race whose ship wandered off course and was discovered in deep space by human astronauts, then they infiltrated society and were hunted down, which actually makes me feel quite sorry for them.
What a beautiful nation!
Or maybe people become Aurelians when they visit Britain?
No pun indended, but when visiting I often hear foreigners complain they (quote) "blow up in Britain". Something in food (or air?), I gather
Imagine you are a character in a fantasy world where people inflate
When they are inflated like balloons they can spend weeks and won't need to eat, drink or sleep - they are preserved until they deflate back to normal
Such is their biology
Since it's their biology - everything living inflates, too: cats, fish, cabbage. Speaking of which - what stops those characters to inflate pumpkins, corn, maybe even a beefstake and let them float on strings above the house? Maybe even house can float away if they're too zealous about preserves?
Before dinner good characters pull down ingredients, deflate them and - voila - dinner is ready to cook! ^_^
Would that work?
