I'd quite like to have a go at morphing some pre-exisiting images, creating gifs from them, and perhaps adding captions too. Can anyone recommend any free, noob-friendly software?
Thanks!

I have to second that gimp isn't newb friendly. If you want something simple to dip your feet use Pixlr. It's browser based though it's been a bit wonky yet serviceable for me as of late. Either way go for it!
Gimp works, if you wanna spend like, a few weeks learning it.
Thanks for the feedback! I've already had some pretty satisfying results using the distorts - warp (grow) feature on GIMP and then creating short gifs.
gimp is not noob friendly, but it is free. You can find tutorials on how to use its warping tools and other various tools on it, so just be persistent and learn the software if you are really into making morphs.
