So, I've been hearing a lot about a supposed way to inflate a trashbag under clothing, but I'm having a hard time finding a place that describes it well. Could someone please point me to a description, or perhaps give their own description on how it is done?

Any suggestions for securing the bag?

Duct tape worked for me. Helps to have the strips needed cut beforehand though.

If you are using an air hose to fill the bag, I found that cutting a thick rubber band and using it like a string...wrap it around the end of the bag to tie it off with the hose stuck in it...and it should keep the bag sealed tight. On a different note, I also found that tying off the other two corners of the trash bag made for a less square/rounder profile.
It's pretty simple. Just put a bag under the piece of clothing that you want to inflate, and fill it with air (e.g. use a hair dryer on cold). You will need a way to secure the bag so that the air doesn't escape when you're done filling it but it's doable. Also the stronger the bag the better so i'd recommend using industrial cleaning bags. 20 years ago i taped together a dual-layered suit made of garbage bags, filled it and loved the feeling as the air pressure built up.
