Control 7: Neighbors

Control 7: Neighbors

“Sounds like our neighbors are out for a swim,” Gretchen Lipshitz said, accepting a glass of iced tea from her husband. She took a quick sip of the drink and stretched, enjoying the lazy weekend sun from under her tinted glasses and wide-brimmed sunhat.

(Note: This is a short follow-up to “Control 5: The Beach”, which was a story about revenge inflation. This is what happened after Michael and Suzie began to actually enjoy their day at the beach. So…you might want to read that first….if you haven’t already)

Control 6: Long Distance Inflation

There are definite advantages of being married to a plastic surgeon, Suzie thought as she lounged poolside in her own backyard.

The day was overcast and cloudy, as it had been for the week prior.  The gentleman had settled in for some quiet study in the library, when the manor's front doorbell rang.  Sighing, he set down his sudoku book and pencil and proceeded through the manor, cursing himself for not hiring a butler.  As he reached the door the bell rang again, and he muttered a weary "yes, yes, I hear you" as he peeked through the keyhole.  Spotting a figure with red skin and silver-on-black eyes, he immediately reached for the lock.

Ugh, are you kidding me?

Patrick shook his head, and frowned.

What, do you want to have sex with them?

He rolled over, and sighed.

We're done, freak, done.

Patrick sat up, growling. He couldn't get the conversation with Lizzie out of his head. He'd tried to share his secret with her, hoping they could bring it into the bedroom. To be fair, she'd told him he wanted him to wear his leather jacket to bed...

Buoyancy

The most commonly used keyword to tag stories on this site is “floating”. Second is “helium”. So clearly there’s some interest in the subject. It’s fairly common for people in inflation stories to be filled with helium to the point of becoming airborne. How much helium this requires varies widely from story to story.

So today we address the question: How much helium would it really take to make someone float?

Short answer: a lot.

The long answer involves some math.

Leslie's Balloon Ride

I was attending college out of state. Away from home for the first time, just a little bird stretching her wings. Of course the down side to that was that I was away from my family and friends. I was alone in a strange place, without any familiar faces. So I was glad when I was befriended by Leslie and Cindy. We just seemed to click. Before too long we were thick as thieves, always together whenever our schedules allowed. One day they told me they had a shared interest in ballooning, and asked me if I would like to go with them on a balloon ride.
