Inflation sighting in new horror movie.

The film Slither has a rather pneumatic surprise towards the end of the trailer.
Hopefully this link works, because it's for the trailer.
(I remind you, this IS a horror movie, so the outcome is more than likely going to be messy. ^^; )
Peace out, y'alls.

I was told to change my signature. So I did.

I saw the trailer and the stills. It just looks too gross for me to enjoy it.

I agree. I was freaked out when I saw it since I wasn't sure why the trailer was on one of the blueberry groups on Yahoo. Obviously an inflation that's not under "cute and cuddly".

Throughout the years...these classic inflation sightings have one thing in common....

THEY

WERE

ALL

FOR

PUSSIES!

Fukureruba

LOL...jeez...Gorefest. I gotta see that, just for a laugh.

Mogman

I just realised what your signature is fuku :D it's a take on the laughingman n_n

Zepylin

Nah, definitely not the kind of inflation I'm into =P mainly because she just appears to be a big sphere with little depressions where her hands are and a head. Nothing too sexy there...

I just spotted this trailer in front of Saw II and rushed here to report on that sighting in the trailer. And while I want to see Nathan Fillion get as much work as possible...I don't have high hopes. :)

In case you want more info:

You can choose the size of the trailer from there, too.

Yeah, looks gross. Looks like I'll eventually get over it and probably end up enjoying it anyhow. Huge inflation scenes are just so dang rare... Supposedly the woman is impregnated by the aliens and they exit her, well... through her skin. I forsee a gory explosion :/ Not my cup of tea. Oh well.

harrisonford08

Oh, I should mention that the one place I read about this talked as if you get to see her progress in other scenes. Unfortunately, this may involve a bunch of gross raw meat feeding from what I hear.

It looks a bit like that film 'Society' from the 1980's, with lots of mutilated flesh and weird stuff. I think the term for this ilk of film (The Thing, Body Melt etc.) is something like 'body trauma' or 'body toxic' whereby peoples bodies are hideously deformed.

Films like this are a bit of a laugh really and I second Inflate123's suggestion that Nathan Fillion should get more work.

I will also go on record now and predict that this film WON'T recieve an Oscar nomination

On the plus side; it's an adult, there's lots of bare skin, she's huge and we might get a good long look at her. A couple of the enhanced stills at the Expanding Horizons MSN group came up looking pretty good. On their own it is a massive expansion that is so like in many fantasy drawings.

Given what the movie's about, I think we all expect a multiple hatching which could be edited out so we can concentrate on whatever more they show that might interest us. It would be great if she swells more, Cobra-stlye, beforehand. I'm imagining instead she's eaten some new Wonka gum that has strawberry pie for dessert and that's what has spilled down her front. The horrible stuff I'd rather ignore if possible.

It's interesting that they show this in the trailer. The audience knows there'll be this so it will be interesting just how much else there might be. It would be great if they walk around and give us a good look for a change instead of the usual 2.67 seconds. In fact this scene is quite reminiscent in some ways of the belly scene in Xtro - similar in concept but taken to the next level.

But since there's clearly (more) unpleasantness in store for the woman in the scene I'm going to try to make it work at least a bit for me by imagining she's........

Heh. Score.

On topic: I've seen the trailer, and she gets pretty damn big. It's cool from what is shown, but gory explosions is a total turn-off for me.

I'll rent it on DVD and see the whole movie then.

I'd have to agree with that last statement. Though she looks big, I know its a gore movie and she's about to die a very horrible, awful death.

srflour

Likewise, but I also know it's just a movie, so if it turns out to be an otherwise good expansion scene I'll just ignore that aspect if or where possible.

There's also potential for scenes like this to be parodied such as with the Scary Movie series or comedy skits, so it might lead to a comedic, more user-friendly send-up. I can picture a Kirsty Alley/Jenny Craig or laxative commercial just for starters. How about "Around The World In 80 Days" with an inflated women as the balloon?

Either way, it's just a scene in a movie and we know to expect the worst, so until more comes out about it there's not much to be done or worried about.

It's not a 'scary' movie like Saw or Cabin Fever. It's a trauma type film. These are always crazy and sort of done tongue in cheek.

Despite the blood, these movies are always so over-the-top they aren't taken 'seiously'. I'm now seeing this as a good medium for expansion.

I mean look at the trailer. This movie can't be 'that' serious.

Come to think of it, it does seem kind of like Southpark with real people and without the gags. Maybe the chef will save the day.

 I love that analogy, srflour.

"Lissen' he-a chil'ren! Don' be eatin' so much that you end up lookin' like Cartman."

"Dammit, you're just jealous of my big worm! Screw you guys I'm goin' home!"

srflour

LOL!

"Holy Crap dude! That huge woman's our teacher - Miss Chokesonspawn."

A still image of the round woman is now up on the movie's official site. It's small.

http://www.slithermovie.net

You're right, it's clear this is going for that tongue-in-cheek, Jordy Verrill goofy/scary thing.

Vejita00

The whole orb expansion thing doesnt do it at all for me, especially not such a nasty one.
Gotta take what you can get I suppose though. No intention of seeing the movie though.

MaximillianZetoX

Well...hey...at least those who like gory explosions may like it. Can't count them out. XD

Never let those who dislike what you enjoy get to you. If they won't bother to understand than it's not worth your time. Hold your head up high and be proud for what you like!

bluepengreenpen

I read on the stormrszone forum that there's no actual expansion, it's more of a gross WG thing. She's inpregnated with baby alien slugs and fed meat until cops eventually find her like that. Then they explode out of her.

johnson

I found some info on the gross Slither expansion scene. "Spoilers" abound, but not really cause it's not the type of movie that you could actually spoil.

hxxp://imdb.com/title/tt0439815/board/nest/29006720

SPOILER SPOLIER SPOILER

In the film the woman is normal until she's alien-raped by Michael Rooker who has these tubes coming out of his chest which he sticks into her stomach. He hides her away, feeding ehr meat, and she gets bigger and bigger until she becomes the blob. THen Michael Rooker leads the cops to her and she is torn completely apart and thousands of red worms come out of her (like in the trailer) and they infect most of the cops, and other ones go into the town to infect people there.

Another quote from the message board over there. Interesting!

This movie takes me waaaay back to the 80's and all those ultra-gross, ultra-gorey movies. I'll be checking it out when it opens.

As for the gross-out blobby lady, I'm surprised that hasn't been done more in these kinds of horror films. I imagine that being turned from an attractive woman to an obese lump of a human flesh must be many ladies idea of a nightmare, and I'd have thought more horror films would have preyed on those fears. Another one I'm surprised hasn't been exploited is rapid ageing.

Afterall, how many women say "I wish I was about 20 lbs heavier and 20 years older"?

Remake or not, this film looks like a RIOT!!

srflour

That link didn't work. It starts with "hxxp://...." instead of "http://...." in case anyone doesn't notice it.

Great... Something else to register for. No thanks. I'll take you word for it.
