New Layout

Okay, not really an issue or sugestion. Just wanted to say that the new layout looks amazing and a lot lighter(hehe) to load. The bright backgrounf is a welcome change to my monitor, that was starting to choke on black backgrounds.
I also noticed the forum's layout looks more like others forums. Was the code changed? Looks good for me.

Thanks.

I've known for a while that dark background + light text = visual suffering, but I've always thought it looked cool. After getting a number of commments on it, I finally bit the bullet and switched to a more readable color scheme.

All that's changed are the colors and the background images, none of the formatting has been altered. A lot of bits on the web site look a lot better because they were orginally designed for a light background, so now they no longer have jagged white edges. This was a problem with almost all of the standard images used in the forum, so that might be what you're noticing.

I liked the other way better myself. But it's your place :D. My only true gripe with the new color scheme, is that it's hard to read Image Descriptions in the gallery (though I am partially color blind, so it might just be me). If there are others like me who are having this problem - a quick fix around this for now, is to highlight the text with your mouse.

I think it would look better if the background were closer to white than grey, but this is nothing short of a dramatic improvement.

Tinmible: Nope, it's not your color blindness, the image description text is hard to read. It's black text on a dark olive background. It's pretty bad for readability, particularly if you don't have a really bright monitor. The image gallery has a separate style sheet that overrides much of the main theme, so I'll have to address that separately. The image gallery has a few issues with the new color scheme, and I'm dealing with them a bit at a time. Don't worry, legibility will return :)

doubleintegral: Let me know if there are areas that are hard to read. I adjust the colors based on how they appear on my own monitor which I think may be brighter than most. I try to calibrate things so that the background images are visible but not intrusive.

I like the new look too, quite a bit. Black is sleek and sexy but it's also overdone on the Web. The gray/blue/purple works for me!

Well I feel a bit better knowing that I'm not the only one having trouble seeing it. However I'm a tad dishertened to realise that it's Green on black, where I thought it was grey on black. Anyone want to trade eyeballs?

Seriously though, The new color scheme works fine overall.
