Advice on Making Latex Inflatables

Long-time fetishist here looking to get into making custom latex inflatable clothing mostly for personal use. My wife and I are very particular about our inflatables and how they work. We have some inflatable latex boobs and a butt dress from latex catfish, but the balloon bra can be a bit difficult to put on, and the valves are not in the right place for her to inflate while wearing it. Also, there is one valve for each boob, not one for both. I would like to make an inflatable balloon bra with one valve for both boobs that is easy to put on, and can be inflated while worn.

I've looked into a lot of resources for making latex clothing in general; seams, materials and how you do it, etc. But I was looking for more information on making inflatables specifically. Do the seams need to be made differently? Does another type of glue need to be used or just regular latex milk? And how do you put the valve in?

As you can tell I'm pretty new and sorry for all the questions, but I would appreciate any help getting started with this. We are very passionate about having our inflation happen just right.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums man!  I'd like to get the bad news out of the way here, and that's we don't really have anyone on this forum that I know of that specializes in latex inflatables besides Blowup_Boy. He's the owner of SqueakLatex.com if you've ever seen that site. With that in mind, you may be waiting a while for a response on here, and that's if you get one. Not trying to sound pessimistic here sorry, just being honest. If anyone reading this can help them out it'd be appreciated.

You might want to also post that on latex fashion forums. I don't know of any good ones in particular but perhaps a google search may help you out.

Also, just be careful with Latex Catfish. They're very cheap but their quality has been rather lacking on inflatables. It's one of those "you get what you pay for" sort of scenarios.

(Not on here too often, replies might be slow.)

I've done some research into making inflatable latex garments (haven't made one yet though!)

Do the seams need to be made differently?

Nope, same technique. Overlap seams.

Does another type of glue need to be used or just regular latex milk?

Standard rubber cement as far as I'm aware.

And how do you put the valve in?

You'll need a punch to punch out a hole for an inner tube valve. Either buy an inner tube and cut out the valve, or buy one for the purpose, I believe blackstyle do some ready to stick on valves.

If you're in the UK http://triplel.co.uk/workshops/ these guys do maker workshops.

Thank you for the advice! Good news about the seams, I was worried there would need to be some new, more difficult method. And rubber cement huh? I would have thought maybe it wouldn't be strong enough for stretching latex or holding air but that just shows what I know. And thanks for the tip about the valve! The one-way innertube valve will work much better for our purposes.

I've got a beginner set coming in the mail that has some sheets and adhesives, cutters and rollers with it, and I'm very eager to get started. Although I know what kind of skill this takes so we'll see what happens on my first attempt, lol.

I got the kit from here: http://elasticaengineering.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_26&products_id=14

I looked at it again and I guess it doesn't come with a rolling cutter, I thought it did, but it doesn't. I'll have to order one separate.
