“Hey, Nina, are you feeling better yet,” David asked, not feeling too good himself – he still had quite a hangover from the previous night’s Halloween party. His girlfriend was lying on the couch as he entered her apartment half watching television, half dozing; a box of Kleenex was placed in reach and dozens of used tissues lay on the ground near the waste paper basket, near misses. Nina looked at David with tired eyes and brushed back her messy hair. Her voice told of her bad cold when she replied, “Nope. But I’ll survive. Hey, how was the party?”
