It was another average night for Stephanie. She would go to work every night at around 6 PM after supper. He job didn't require any type of professional look, so she would wear just light blue denim jeans and a small tank top with sneakers, no uniform or expensive suit. She recorded lab data onto computers for Sav-Corp for various experiments. She was working on a new project by Dr. Miller code named JH-12. She didn't know what this project was, despite her usual knowledge with these projects.

Teranna tried to stay awake, but the tour was just plain boring.

Her junior class was on a field trip at a local bubble gum factory for some weird science thing. She didn’t know cause she doesn’t pay attention to what her science teacher said. She doesn’t really care about why they’re here, she just wants the free samples of gum. She loved bubble gum. She couldn’t be away from it for more than fifteen minutes without freaking out. She would throw as many pieces she could hold in her mouth to blow the biggest bubble. Others ask about why she does it.

Derek smiled and waved to his mother as she and his father drove off in the car, closing the garage door as they went. He thought about what his mother had said: "Stay out of the alcohol cabinet", and what he had replied: "Oh, I will...why would I do that when I was too young?"

It’s late afternoon by the time I arrive at the empty stadium. I notice that you’re already there, waiting for me. You’re looking smug, as though you already know the outcome of our little competition. I absent-mindedly finger my navel. I know that if I lose, that wonderfully familiar hose will be pushed into it.
