I Made a Splash (1980)

This scene has been floating around the inflation community literally for decades under the name Ratataplan. Right director (Maurizio Nichetti), wrong movie.

I don't speak Italian, and I'm not sure the context would make any more sense if I did. In what appears to be a hallucination, a cartoon version of Angela inflates.

GO GO GADGET COAT

Gadget has spring-loaded legs of course, but when extra lift is needed, he has his inflatable coat. I'll have to review to episodes to see if he ever employed the coat in a confined space and smushed anyone.

King Koo Koo

King Koo Koo. His capacity to inflate and grow is directly proportionate to the mean-spirited gags suffered by others. Maybe the weirdest example of body inflation ever animated. His expansion is random and temporary because of his bi-polar nature: Sadistic delight or grouchy self-pity.

Hurricane Harry

6os TV show villain Hurricane Harry. Capable of blowing buildings down with his hurricane breath. Pen and ink.

Blimp Bluto

Popeye gets revenge on Bluto for faking a nervous breakdown and lounging in a hospital. The best part is, I didn't have to make this up. MS PAINT over pen and pencil.
