"Mommy, buy me a balloon!" said the little girl as she tugged on her mothers dress. "oh.... ok" said the mom as she pulled out her money from her purse. it was the 1st day of the carnival, and Milly wanted to go with her mother. Her mother handed the money to the balloon Vendor, he counted the money and said "here you go, 3 balloons for your little girl". Milly's mother took the balloons and tied one to each of her daughter's arms, but she had one left. "Well, you want to carry this one, Milly?" said her mother. Milly nodded and took the balloon's string.

The door swung open to vague swearing and mumbling as Thomas walked in, a large box in his arms.

 

“Lisa! I’m back!” he said, as he kicked the door closed, and walked into the front room of the apartment. “Dang that thing’s heavy…” he said as he put the box down with a thud.

Major Motoko Kusanagi was not having a good day. The weather was dreary, with thunder storms rolling overhead every few minutes, making travel through the slums a dismal experience. As she excited an alleyway into the courtyard in front of the abandoned warehouse, she wiped the rain water from her forehead and placed her hand on her hip, reflecting silently on what she was doing. Why was she, of all people, chosen for this assignment? These were petty drug dealers, a dime a dozen. Did they really need to drag her all the way across town to deal with them?

He sees her. She looks wonderful and it suddenly dawns on him how much he has missed her.

He notes her walking faster towards him, he picks up his pace. They are nearly running into each others arms. They collide and it is as if a nuclear warhead went off.

Suddenly something very weird starts to happen. She begins to swell. No it is more like she is inflating!

It started out slowly, he could see the confusion on her face as her cheek it started to puff out against his cheek, then her arms went a bit rigid around him.
