It had been a couple of weeks since Kamiko began her training with Tomoko-sensei. During this period, she refined her skills at a rapid and efficient rate that impressed Tomoko. By the end of the first week, Kamiko was able to not only inflate and deflate herself with hardly any mishaps, but she could do so in half the amount of time it took her on her first try. Tomoko-sensei would start off each day at six in the morning sharp. If Kamiko didn’t get up in time, Tomoko would just roll the groggy girl out of bed and have her quickly eat her plain breakfast of fried rice and miso soup.

The mid-morning sun shined brightly down upon the bamboo forest surrounding the abandoned temple. Nobody would suspect that something was going on within, unless the occupants decided to come out.

Suddenly the two large screen doors lazily open up, pushed open by the middle-aged lady who lived within. She looked outwards from the steps of the temple momentarily, admiring the serene environment around her.

“My, it’s a good thing I found you today Kamiko. I’ve never seen such a beautiful day today.

Kamiko was a girl without any family or friends to speak of. She had silky long black hair tied into a long elegant ponytail and had a slightly muscular yet busty build. She was taken into custody at birth by a rice farmer and raised as one of his own children. His name was Yoshiyuki. He was a kind man who was never married, but he always took in orphans not only to have them work on the fields and help him, but just to feel the joy of raising young people into great adults. He had at least seven young girls working for him, ranging from the ages of 11 to 22. Kamiko was the oldest one.

The survey mission had been going so well. Namunk had just planned to make a quick sweep by the planet, slingshot around the sun, then hibernate all the way home. Then the alarms went off on approach. Something was wrong, the hull was collapsing. Fast. And if the shell fractured out here in the vacuum of space, it would be all over. But if he ditched his ship in the atmosphere and there was nowhere for him to go he'd be just as gone. He turned the controls and aimed towards the blue orb ahead of him. If he found a suitable shelter, he could wait for a rescue indefinitely.
