Wiping tears from her eyes Tamara looked at herself in the rearview mirror of her car. Her light blue eyes were strained by red veins that glistened with tears. She brushed the bangs of her brunette bob cut to hide her swollen eyes. Sniffling she put her car into park and got out.

Tamara was a new comedian, but not just any comedian, a prop comic to be exact. But her first set on stage tonight didn't go as planned; being booed off stage in a matter of minutes and even hearing a heckler call her "fatty".

They had only jogged a couple of hours before they were a distance from the manor. Maim bounded forward with the gold she carried, featherweight to ease a heavy debt. She would appreciate help carrying the hefty haul, but Lulen trailed behind. Lulen’s mind was burdened with the events from earlier which Maim knew to be the case, as she recalled telling Lulen that some underlings would foot the price of opposing her. The silence between them was enough for any creature in the woods to hear, and Maim wanted to speak to Lulen about it but waited on it.

By all accounts, Chloe was in no discernable way out of the ordinary. Modest and unassuming, she held a good job, lived by herself in a nice apartment, and faithfully paid all of her bills on time. So, to all appearances, Chloe would have been completely run-of-the-mill, were it not for one small detail.
